Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Growth, Sales-Focused Account Manager to support new-business development and the growth and retention of existing insurance-sector clients. Approximately 60% of the role will focus on prospecting and securing new-logo opportunities, with the remaining 40% focused on developing and applying complex account-management skills.

Day to Day You’ll Be:

  • Research target organisations and relevant decision-makers within the cyber-insurance market, particularly across underwriting and claims functions.
  • Conduct structured, multichannel prospecting activities to identify new opportunities and secure high-quality new-logo meetings for senior Business Development Directors.
  • Build and nurture a sustainable sales pipeline by maintaining appropriate engagement with prospects throughout complex, long-term sales cycles.
  • Develop professional networks through LinkedIn, industry events and other relevant channels to create new commercial relationships and market opportunities.
  • Map existing client organisations, identify additional stakeholders and uncover opportunities to increase revenue through cross-selling, upselling and land-and-expand activities.
  • Build trusted client relationships that support account satisfaction, engagement, retention, contract renewal and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Lead client implementation projects, maintaining project plans, conducting progress meetings and coordinating internal and external stakeholders to deliver requirements on time and to a high standard.
  • Monitor accounts after launch, resolve or escalate client issues, maintain accurate process records and support recurring activities such as reporting, contracting, invoicing, Salesforce administration and quarterly account reviews.
  • Develop and deliver client-facing materials and training for sales, claims and underwriting audiences, working with Marketing, Operations and other internal specialists where appropriate.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • At least two years of direct selling experience in a business-to-business or business-to-business-to-consumer environment, including Sales Development Representative or business-development activities.
  • Demonstrated experience researching prospects, conducting multichannel outreach and developing new-logo opportunities.
  • Experience building and nurturing prospects through complex or extended sales cycles without creating unnecessary or excessive contact.
  • Proven ability to identify growth opportunities within existing accounts through account mapping, stakeholder engagement, cross-selling and upselling.
  • Experience managing complex internal and external stakeholder groups to deliver client outcomes and resolve problems.
Required Technical Skills
  • Strong prospecting and pipeline-development skills, including target-company research, persona identification, outreach planning and meeting generation.
  • Excellent verbal, written and virtual communication skills, including the ability to lead professional video meetings and deliver engaging presentations.
  • Strong active-listening, consultative-questioning and relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand client needs and establish trust.
  • Effective project and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to coordinate implementations, maintain clear documentation and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to use customer relationship management systems and operational information to maintain account records, report insights and analyse trends.
We’re also looking for the preferred skills below. Whether you are proficient or could use some brushing up, we’re happy to support your career development and growth in:
  • Experience in the insurance sector, particularly cyber insurance, underwriting or claims.
  • Knowledge of data-breach response, personal cyber protection or identity-protection services.
  • Experience using Salesforce Customer Relationship Management.
  • Additional language capabilities relevant to the UK, European or Rest of World markets.
  • Flexibility to accommodate international meeting times and travel up to 25%.
