Job Responsibilities :The Localization Lead will be responsible for managing end-to-end localization processes for mobile game titles across Southeast Asia and other emerging markets. This includes overseeing translation quality, managing vendors and linguists, coordinating with country teams, and ensuring all in-game content, marketing assets, and live operations materials are culturally and linguistically appropriate for each region.This role requires strong localization management experience, attention to linguistic and cultural nuances, and the ability to work cross-functionally with product, operations, QA, and regional publishing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full localization workflow from planning, translation, editing, QA, to final implementation for mobile games and related assets.
- Coordinate with country teams to gather local insights, ensure cultural relevance, and validate localized content.
- Oversee localization vendors and freelance translators to ensure consistent quality, timely delivery, and adherence to tone/style guides.
- Build and maintain localization assets including glossaries, style guides, and translation memories.
- Ensure high-quality localization of in-game text, UI, tutorial content, live ops events, and customer-facing materials (e.g., support, community, and marketing).
- Work closely with QA and CS teams to triage localization bugs, track issues, and manage re-delivery of fixed content.
- Establish scalable processes for multi-language launches and ongoing updates, ensuring coverage for SEA languages and global expansions.
- Track localization KPIs such as delivery timelines, QA pass rates, and in-market feedback.
- Support voice-over localization, cultural adaptation of visuals, and legal content where applicable.
- Collaborate with product and development teams to improve tools, pipelines, and integrations for localization delivery.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in game or digital content localization, with at least 2 years in a lead or management capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of localization tools (e.g., memoQ, Lokalise, Phrase, XTM) and file formats (e.g., JSON, XML, Excel).
- Strong understanding of mobile game development pipelines and publishing requirements.
- Experience managing localization vendors, freelance translators, and in-market reviewers.
- Excellent linguistic skills and sensitivity to cultural nuances; fluency in English is required, with one or more SEA languages as a plus.
- Strong project management and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple languages and deadlines simultaneously.
- Good understanding of QA workflows and ability to collaborate with QA teams on linguistic testing.
- Familiarity with translation memory management, terminology databases, and quality assurance tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across global teams.
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced mobile game publishing environment.
- Fluency in English; SEA language proficiency is a plus.
- This role is based in Singapore.
