PURPOSE
This role will work closely with Appointed Actuary in various areas, e.g. Capital, Par/IUL management, SAA/ALM etc. for the company. The role will be required to work with multiple stakeholders across various functions in local business unit and group/head office.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Be the subject matter expert in areas of capital, Par/IUL and SAA/ALM.
- SG RBC2, EC
- Bonus / crediting rate management, regular management updates, committee management
- SAA / ALM initiatives, regular management updates, economic assumption review, investment performance management, investment committee management
- Drive technical aspects of SME topics independently.
- Support in communication and stakeholder management of SME topics.
- Anticipate risks and changes to financial metrics, regulations and group requirements on SME topics and highlight them promptly, providing solutions where possible to manage the risks or gaps.
- Ensure timely and successful deliverables on regular and periodic controls such as report validation, reserve movement analysis, audit logs, etc.
- Pro-actively identify process gaps and/or routine tasks to drive process enhancement and automation initiatives to improve reporting processes in terms of speed, accuracy and controls.
- Manage and develop the team to ensure high quality of deliverables and commentaries.
- Ensure proper controls are in place with audit trail and compliance with Group policies
- Assist in the coordination of work and resource planning to ensure that projects and deliverables to all key stakeholders are met with good quality.
- Support AA and CFO and the team on key ad-hoc projects where required.
- Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Business Units, Finance, Group Actuarial/Finance and Auditors
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science
- Qualified / near-qualified actuary with 8-12 years of experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
- Strong technical skills, prior experience in Capital, Par/IUL management or investments/ALM would be an advantage
- Good knowledge on insurance regulations
- Experience with Prophet and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Track record in driving successful projects and initiatives will be a bonus
