The Matter Optimisation (MO) function at Linklaters works closely with the Firm’s Practice Groups to design and deliver high quality legal solutions for clients. The function is structured according to 3 global practice divisions: Corporate, Finance and Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations and Centres of Excellence (CoE) to ensure seamless alignment with Practices, adoption of optimised ways of working, effective best practice, and sustainable growth to meet clients’ evolving requirements. The function comprises of several capabilities: Paralegals and Support Lawyers, LegalTech, Legal Project Management, Translation and our contract lawyer platform Re:link, who work together to maximise the client experience, whilst generating profitable revenue for the Firm.
The purpose of the role is:
- To support with the successful implementation and delivery of Transaction Tools (“LegalTech solutions” or “products”), including the development of practice facing automation solutions and the technical management of these systems
- To raise awareness and promote the use of Document Automation and LegalTech tools in the Firm
- Ensure projects and tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, on time and to the ultimate client’s satisfaction.
- To deliver optimal client and commercial benefit in line with the Firm’s strategy
Your role
The role will include but not be limited to:
- Designing and implementing automated document assembly solutions
- Supporting and enhancing existing document automation solutions to ensure they remain fit for purpose and up to date
- Identifying opportunities for system enhancements, software upgrades and integrations with other LegalTech products, which will allow the firm to maximise the benefits of LegalTech solutions
- Providing specialist advice on LegalTech solutions within the portfolio, including integrated delivery options
- Working with external providers to deliver and sustain enhanced end-to-end customer experience
- Conducting training/presentations to the Practice and external clients on how to use the products within the portfolio
- Ensuring products are successfully implemented / rolled out by engaging and managing relevant teams involved
- Proactively promote and raise awareness of the firm's LegalTech capability
- Identify new and innovative opportunities for automation and other LegalTech solutions that can assist the firm with client and matter delivery
- Regularly monitor and review product performance and obtain regular feedback from end users on experience and key metrics
- Establish strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders in Business Teams and the Practice, to help ensure a first-class LegalTech service
Your experience
- Analytical and structured with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to engage and influence a variety of stakeholders at various levels of seniority and to explain and justify solutions in clear, non-technical language
- Willing to challenge accepted ways of working / the `status quo'
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and train confidently
- Highly organised, with excellent time management and the ability to prioritise effectively, even during busy periods

- Proficient user of Microsoft Office tools
