Job Description

As an Associate within the APAC Legal Entity Risk Management team, you will report to the APAC Legal Entity Risk team lead and provide support to the Chief Risk Officers (CRO) and Legal Entity Risk Managers (LERM) for Singapore and China. Your role involves further developing and implementing the entity's risk governance structure to ensure effective execution of the legal entity risk management framework. You will collaborate with various risk functions, such as Market, Credit, Liquidity, and Operational risk, gaining a solid understanding and oversight of the entity's risk profile and emerging risk themes. Additionally, you will build meaningful partnerships with key functional stakeholders at various levels within the Firm.
Job responsibilities

  • Implement an effective risk governance structure for the entity
  • Perform secretariat functions for the location Risk Committees
  • Prepare risk governance related materials for local governance committees e.g., the Management Committee
  • Engage proactively on regulatory deliverables, examinations and requests pertaining to risk governance and cross-risk stripes
  • Partner with key functional teams to assess and address applicable regulatory changes impacting risk, including emerging risk themes, e.g., Climate Risk and Data Governance
  • Ascertain adherence to internal risk policies, procedures and external risk related regulations, including the maintenance and oversight of legal entity risk governance documents e.g., entity's risk appetite framework, risk governance frameworks and Risk Committee charter
  • Participate in projects and initiatives impacting Risk Management
  • Contribute to the resolution and escalation of risk oversight issues


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, finance, or control management in the financial services industry
  • Effective verbal and written communication in Mandarin Chinese to collaborate and engage with stakeholders in China
  • Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Proficient in stakeholder management and able to foster productive relationships
  • Intellectual curiosity and able to demonstrate the ability to learn quickly
  • Good degree of initiative, self-direction and level-headed


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with laws and regulations in the financial services industry
