About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Secretariat team at RHB Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal support across a wide range of banking-related matters, including contract review, regulatory advisory, dispute resolution, and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with internal teams and external counsels to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks across the Bank’s operations.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and advising on a broad range of banking-related contracts across Corporate, Commercial, Retail, and Treasury businesses.
  • Manage and advise on regulatory matters affecting the Bank, including but not limited to the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
  • Provide legal support on ISDA-related matters.
  • Assist in handling dispute-related matters,
  • Provide legal support on branch-related projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare and advise on legal documentation, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of external counsels.
  • Keep abreast of laws and regulations relevant to financial institutions.
  • Provide general legal support to senior team members.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Head of Legal & Secretariat and/or the Section Head of Legal.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 1-3 years of working experience in legal practice, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Candidates called to the Singapore Bar and/or any commonwealth jurisdictions are preferred.
  • Strong legal drafting and analytical skills.
  • Good planning, organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Passionate and driven in pursuing excellence.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple stakeholders.
