Legal Counsel responsible for providing legal support to Wealth Management teams, drafting documentation, advising on business-related issues, and managing regulatory initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Provide legal support mainly to Wealth Management teams based in Hong Kong and other regions
- Drafting and advising on Wealth Management related documentation
- Proactively identify issues related to the business and provide commercially pragmatic advice to the business team
- Providing legal support to regional offices and participating in regional projects and initiatives.
- Advise business teams on various legal, structural, reputational and other transaction-related issues
- Respond to regulatory initiates, market structure reform and policy work
- Attend internal meetings on behalf of Legal
- Work closely with LCD on various matters affecting WM business and certain general matters
- Bachelor’s degree or above in law
- Minimum 3 years of PQE relevant experience in an international law firm. Previous in-house experience would be a plus.
- Familiar with wealth management or private banking business, as well as general commercial matters
- Common law qualification (other than HK) would be preferred.
- Strong technical, commercial and communication skills along with a good ability to effectively prioritize competing workloads in a client focused manner.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
