Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played PC game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That's where you come in.

As part of the legal team reporting to the Head of APAC Legal, you will provide outstanding legal advice to help Riot get to the next level. You will work closely with colleagues across multiple functions on a wide range of matters, including corporate, commercial, regulatory, IP, employment matters, and other strategic transactions, with the opportunity to grow and evolve depending on your interests and the business’s needs. You will have a meaningful role on the APAC legal team and the opportunity to develop professionally in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • You will draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including vendor, sponsorship, licensing and publishing agreements and our IT/IP arrangements
  • You will provide legal expertise to internal stakeholders on a broad range of legal subjects including corporate, commercial, regulatory, IP and employment matters
  • You will collaborate with external legal counsel on specific matters ranging from litigation to expert advice requests
  • You will be involved in corporate secretary matters and will collaborate with external service providers to ensure reports or filings are submitted in a timely fashion
  • You will contribute to the development of the overall legal function, including developing or improving current legal processes and conducting and planning legal education for various stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • You have a law degree from a recognized university or law school and are admitted to practice in a jurisdiction within the APAC region
  • You have experience of working in reputable law firms or MNCs and are comfortable working on corporate transactions, multiple commercial contracts, employment law issues, corporate governance matters, eSports legal questions, tech licensing agreements, etc
  • You have the adaptive capacity to practice law in the fast-changing world of games and esports

You get bonus points if you are fully bilingual; you can draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts and complex legal concepts in English and a language spoken in the APAC region (e.g., Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Bahasa, Thai or Vietnamese).

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit and good self-discipline.

Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.
