Job Profile Summary:

In this role, you will design, develop, and provide support for platform/s for Prudential. This is a hands-on software engineering & software engineering leadership role.

We are looking for an Engineering who is passionate around solving business problems through innovation & engineering practices. This role requires the candidate to have depth of knowledge and expertise that can be applied to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with multiple stakeholders regularly to stay focused on common goals.

As part of this dynamic role, you will work closely with business units and other IT teams to deliver leading edge technology to enable digital capabilities of Prudential Singapore.

Job Description:

  • Work as part of a team of developers to analyze, design, develop, test, deploy and support applications to meet business objectives.

  • Maintain and support the applications in accordance to Service Level Agreement.

  • Deliver applications in accordance to relevant IT policies and procedures

  • Resolve new/complex problems which may impact the application.

Who we are looking for:

  • Strong background in design/development (functional and non-blocking programming) and support of large web-based systems, complete software product lifecycle exposure

  • Strong culture on Software Testing (Unit Test, TDD, BDD)

  • 5-8 years of Back End development experience

  • Experience and affinity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

  • Complexity estimation / planning poker

  • Strong background in design/development of Java/Spring Boot based systems.

  • Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning, engineering best practices, and deployment methodologies

  • Must have Experience with:

  • Java 11+

  • RESTful APIs and Microservices development (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud)

  • TDD/BDD (JUnit, Mockito and cucumber)

  • Any RDBMS and NoSQL

  • Code Version Control tools (GIT, bitbucket)

  • Basic of DevOps (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Basic of Cloud platform (Services like Kubernetes, API Gateway)

  • Basic of Event Bus (confluent -  Kafka)

Working Experience:

  • More than 8 years in designing, developing, and maintaining IT applications.

  • Experience in leading / supervising an application development team.

  • Experience in Agile software development

  • Experience with 3rd party vendor management is an added advantage.

Education:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent

Language:

  • Fluent written and spoken English
