In the world of Ultimo, asset management processes and the software they require take center stage. At IFS Ultimo we develop easy-to-use EAM software for confident asset owners, enabling them to optimize productivity, maximize asset availability, and secure health and safety. We supply out-of-the-box, though supremely flexible software with an unmatched ROI through short implementations, seamless integrations, and self-service application management.
The Ultimo application consists of various services developed in C#. Together, these make up the back end. The front end is written in JavaScript. Here, we use a proprietary web framework. The current generation of the application runs on Azure Kubernetes. We use various cloud-native techniques to offer a stable and scalable platform. Customers on our Azure platform are automatically provided with fixes and new features bi-weekly.
We set high-quality standards for the work delivered and have high coverage with various types of automated testing. We work with .NET 8 (C#), Xamarin/MAUI, Azure, Kubernetes, Azure SQL, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

We are now in the second phase of setting up the Ultimo Platform Development teams in Sri Lanka, the development focus will be on User Interface / User Experience components, later the focus will diverge.
Whether it's custom-developed systems, platform integration or application modernization, as a JavaScript/TypeScript Software Engineer at IFS Ultimo, you work together within the team to create features in our cloud-based web application.
As a Platform Software Engineer, you will be working on improving our low-code platform, which is used by other teams to build modules. You introduce new concepts to make our low-code platform even better.
During your career with us, you will work on our user-friendly and efficient application. You implement front-end business logic and help continuously improve our in-house developed JavaScript/TypeScript framework.
Being the Lead Software Engineer you are a member of one of the Scrum team working on expanding and improving the Ultimo software by drawing up and implementing user stories, for example.
In terms of technical stack, you will get started with Typescript, JavaScript and ASP.NET.
- Analytical skills and think-out of the box to find solutions
- You have demonstrable knowledge and experience with Typescript and JavaScript;
- Although we have our in-house developed framework, knowledge of Angular, ReactJS, Vue or another front-end framework is a big plus.
- You make choices about the structure, architecture, tools and frameworks and you can explain these to other software engineers and architects clearly.
Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent professional qualifications in a field relevant to the Computer Science, Software Engineering and additional courses aimed at software architecture, .Net and Javascript.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in C#.NET
- Knowledge on JavaScript / TypeScript will be an added advantage
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Familiar with the Agile/Scrum method of working.
- Experience with working in a multidisciplinary team
- Broad knowledge in the area of software development
- Although we have our in-house developed framework, knowledge of Angular, ReactJS, Vue or another front-end framework is a big plus;
- Experience with version control and continuous integration;
- Experience with translating user stories into tasks;
- Possesses up-to-date knowledge of technical developments in the software industry;
- Is able to make good technical architecture choices
