Location: Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (hybrid)

Type: 9-month FTC - maternity leave cover (full-time)

About the role:

We are hiring a Lead People Business Partner to shape and deliver the people strategy for a major area of BSI’s global business.

Operating with significant autonomy, you will act as a strategic advisor to Divisional Directors and senior leaders, translating business priorities into organisation, workforce, talent and leadership strategies that deliver sustainable commercial performance.

This is an enterprise-level role with responsibility for leading complex organisation design and workforce transformation, anticipating future capability and people risks, and balancing talent investment with wider business priorities. You will also set the standard for people partnering across your portfolio, coaching People Business Partners and ensuring consistently high-quality judgement and delivery.

This is a fixed-term maternity leave cover position, and an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior People Business Partner who is comfortable influencing at the highest levels and leading through complexity, ambiguity and significant organisational change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape and influence divisional and enterprise people strategies aligned to business priorities and future capability needs.

  • Act as a trusted thought partner to Divisional Directors and senior leaders on workforce, talent, organisation and investment decisions.

  • Anticipate workforce, leadership and organisational risks, developing strategies that future-proof business performance.

  • Lead complex organisation design and workforce transformation across multiple business areas.

  • Govern significant organisation and workforce initiatives, ensuring quality, consistency and alignment with enterprise principles.

  • Coach and challenge senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, cultural evolution and organisational health.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex, sensitive or high-risk people matters.

  • Set the quality standard for people partnering, coaching and developing People Business Partners to strengthen capability and consistency.

  • Work closely with People Directors, Centres of Excellence and People Operations to deliver integrated people solutions at scale.

  • Ensure governance, risk, employee experience and workforce implications are considered within strategic business decisions.

  • Represent the People function in enterprise forums, transformation programmes and strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure organisational change is embedded sustainably through established people processes and ways of working.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience operating as a Senior People Business Partner or in an equivalent strategic HR leadership role.

  • A strong track record of leading complex organisation design, workforce transformation and business change.

  • Experience partnering with Divisional Directors, Executive Leaders or equivalent senior stakeholders.

  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance people investment, organisational risk and business performance.

  • Deep understanding of people operating models, governance, workforce strategy and organisational effectiveness.

  • Exceptional influencing, consulting and coaching capability, with the confidence to challenge constructively.

  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to navigate competing enterprise priorities.

  • The ability to operate effectively with significant autonomy in complex and ambiguous environments.

  • Business-level English.

Highly desirable

  • Experience operating within a complex, global matrix organisation.

  • Experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation or business change.

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent, or currently working towards it.
