Lead Network Engineer, Operation
Job Overview:
- Provide advanced technical support and leadership for MasterCard's operations environment with an emphasis on networking technologies.
- Analyze information in order to conceptualize and define operational objectives.
- Provide project support and leadership, training for junior staff, and utilize applied engineering techniques to develop and implement new technology initiatives.
- Define and implement process improvement techniques that generate operational efficiencies.
Major Accountabilities:
- Perform Tier II support functions for the MasterCard Operations Command Center (OCC) to isolate and resolve operational problems in a cost effective manner.
- Review projects, define operational requirements and ensure successful delivery of services.
- Create implementation plans to ensure changes to the production environment are delivered in accordance to established standards and change management policy.
- Perform proactive network analysis to ensure network integrity and performance is at an optimal state.
- Keep abreast of current and future technologies.
- Successfully interact with partners, customers and stakeholders.
- Develop and define metrics along with management input.
- Develop advanced documentation to support the operations environment.
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge / Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of routing/switching, tunneling, security operations/engineering, and MPLS.
- Firewall experience is preferred.
- 5 to 8 years experienced required.
Skills/ Abilities:
Problem solving skill.
Work Conditions:
Some on-call responsibility and occasional off hours work required.
