About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join our global infrastructure team, based in Singapore. This pivotal role will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation, maintenance, and optimization of critical IT infrastructure, with a particular focus on supporting trading systems and ensuring stringent regulatory compliance across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) landscape, including China, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will possess good knowledge across servers, networking, Voice over IP (VoIP), and End User Computing (EUC), coupled with a strong understanding of the unique demands and regulatory requirements of the financial services sector in APAC.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions across all layers, including physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux), storage (SAN, NAS), data centers, and cloud environments (hybrid/multi-cloud).
  • Provide infrastructure support and design for high-performance, low-latency trading systems, ensuring optimal connectivity, resilience, and data integrity for real-time market operations. This includes understanding the specific infrastructure needs for market data, order management, and routing solutions.
  • Provide technical support for End User Computing environments, including desktop virtualization, application delivery, and VDI solutions, ensuring a secure and productive environment for end-users, particularly those in trading and front-office functions.
  • Act as the lead support for IT infrastructure regulatory requirements across key APAC markets (e.g., MAS TRM in Singapore, SFC regulations in Hong Kong, relevant regulations in China and Japan).
  • Ensure all infrastructure solutions and operational processes are designed and maintained in strict adherence to these regulations, participating in audits and providing necessary documentation. and enforce robust security controls, including patching, vulnerability management, intrusion prevention, and access controls.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) for all critical infrastructure components, ensuring operational resilience.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures to minimize recurrence.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure designs, configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Proven experience supporting trading systems and low-latency environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable expertise in APAC regulatory compliance for IT infrastructure, with hands-on experience in meeting requirements from regulators like MAS (Singapore), HKMA (Hong Kong), JFSA (Japan), and CBRC (China).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Good working Knowledge of emerging Technologies like AI, Cloud Migration and ability to collaborate closely with HO for local implementation.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure roles, with at least 3 - 5 years in a senior capacity within a large multinational financial institution or bank.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global, geographically dispersed team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
