Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Internal Audit Manager, you'll oversee audit execution, guide risk assessments, and play a key role in shaping and delivering the internal audit strategy
Lead and manage a variety of internal audits and engagements, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery aligned with professional standards
Oversee risk assessments and execution of audits, offering domain expertise and practical insight
Review audit workpapers and reports, providing clear and constructive feedback to team members
Report audit findings and work with management to address control gaps, recommend improvements, and monitor actions taken
Manage and develop a small team, delivering performance reviews and supporting career growth
Contribute to the ongoing development of the internal audit plan and adoption of best practices, including agile methods and data analytics
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to understand risks and support a culture of continuous improvement
Support departmental initiatives, including participation in Centre of Excellence programmes and contributing to wider GIA strategy and operations
About You
Significant experience in leading or managing audits of financial and operational controls within the insurance sector
Holder of a professional qualification in audit, insurance, risk management or related area, such as CA/CPA, CFA or CIA
A dynamic and proactive team player, with the ability to work independently, take initiative and actively solve problems
A critical thinker, with the ability to analyse and evaluate information, including the use of data analysis techniques
Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of building relationships with key stakeholders
The ability to balance the quality and timeliness of audit outputs
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and development
Effective and engaged in a hybrid work environment
