Department: Assembly – Process and Equipment Engineering

Project Title: Improve Assembly Output and Yield for Cost Improvement

⎻The Assembly internship program aim to expose interns to Assembly processes in Semiconductor manufacturing process. You will be exposed to engineering role in starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. You will also be exposed to identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems with hands-on data collection by applying failure analysis, data analytics, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new process baseline qualifications with engineer guidance to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives.

Scope: 

⎻ In this project, the intern will learn:

•Basic operations and troubleshooting skills for operating assembly equipment

•Identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems

•Coordinate and execute process, equipment and material evaluation / optimization initiatives and implement changes at process step

•Develop experimental matrix and collect data to optimize assembly processes for output and yield

•Perform data analytics to finalise improvement proposal

•Implementation of solution to check effectiveness of solution

Deliverable: 

⎻To optimize and improve assembly output and yield through hands-on data collection and data analytics

Skillset Require: 

⎻Positive learning attitude

⎻Failure mode and effects analysis

⎻Design of experiments

-Skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point

-Skills in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Engineering Statistical data analysis would be advantageous
