A Snapshot
As the Innovation Strategy Manager, based in Singapore, you will report to the Vice-President of Innovation and Intelligence and work closely with various teams and leaders across the Asia Pacific region, making your mark in a number of ways:
- Identify and Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Scout, assess, and pilot cutting-edge innovations - such as AI-driven cooling systems, liquid cooling, and energy-efficient designs to enhance data centre performance, sustainability, and scalability.
- Develop Strategic Innovation Roadmaps: Align innovation initiatives with business goals by crafting long-term strategies that integrate new technologies, partnerships, and market trends to maintain competitive advantage and meet evolving customer demands.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration and Implementation: Lead cross-departmental efforts to embed innovation into operations, working with design, energy and climate, customer solutions, sustainability, and product teams to turn ideas into deployable solutions across global data centre networks.
- Managing Technology Innovation: Assessing, defining and implementing novel technologies that help to make net positive contributions to the environment, AirTrunk’s customers and employees, and the communities where AirTrunk operates, assessing the financial and environmental benefits of the solutions.
- Leadership: Become AirTrunk’s subject matter expert on circularity initiatives and managing the implementation of projects through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for setting the vision, strategy, roadmap and budget for Innovation initiatives, as well as overseeing their implementation.
- Partnership building: Identifying, selecting and collaborating with the best partners in the renewable energy, energy storage, recycled water, indoor-agriculture, EV-charging and many other industries. You will establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, contractors, regulators, NGOs, academia and media, and foster a culture of co-innovation and co-creation.
Your Day to Day
- Facilitating innovation processes with internal and external teams, enabling collaborative approaches in the ideation, development and implementation of solutions to clear problem statements.
- Leading the end-to-end life cycle of Innovation projects, from ideation, concept design to operationalisation, ensuring alignment with AirTrunk’s standards and objectives and working closely with various AirTrunk teams and external partners and driving continuous improvement and innovation, by applying best practices, lessons learned and feedback from stakeholders.
- Developing business cases and feasibility studies for Innovation projects, including technical, financial, environmental and social aspects.
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify and evaluate potential technologies or solutions that can assist AirTrunk in its continuous improvement on decarbonisation, water and energy optimisation, automation. Those opportunities and partners in the communities around current and future AirTrunk data centre campuses.
- Contributing to the coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, vendors, consultants, contractors, regulators and media.
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting on the performance and impact of Innovation solutions, including energy, water, carbon, waste and social metrics.
- Representing AirTrunk at industry events and forums and promoting innovation as a thought leader and a differentiator in the hyperscale data centre market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Science, Business or a related field.
- Minimally 8years of relevant experience in innovation management, product development, project management, engineering or consulting, preferably in renewable energy, energy storage, recycled water, or other related industries.
- Proven track record of leading complex and innovative projects on time, on budget and on quality, with a high level of customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Holds an understanding of energy flows, circular economy principles and practices, and their application to real estate, energy or infrastructure industries.
- A passion for sustainability, decarbonisation and social responsibility, and a drive to make a positive difference in the world.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Holds a high degree of autonomy, initiative and ownership, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the APAC region and occasionally globally.
- Proficiency in English.
