Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infra team that is providing critical operations and maintenance for an enterprise customer. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in VMware Virtualization, Windows Server 2016/2019, Veritas NetBackup, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and SAN storage. This role is essential for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of the customer’s IT infrastructure.

What we seek to accomplish together:

1. VMware Virtualization:

• Design, deploy, and manage VMware virtual environments.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and optimization of virtual infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations for virtualized environments.
• Conduct regular health checks and performance tuning of VMware systems.
• Perform regular updates, patching, and security hardening for VMware environments.

2. Windows Server Administration:

• Manage and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019 environments.
• Perform regular updates, patching, and security hardening.
• Implement and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server related issues to ensure optimal performance.

3. Veritas NetBackup:

• Configure and manage backup and recovery solutions using Veritas NetBackup.
• Perform regular backups, restore operations, and disaster recovery testing.
• Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Ensure compliance with backup policies and retention requirements.
• Perform regular updates, patching, and security hardening for Veritas NetBackup environments.

4. RHEL Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.
• Perform system updates, patch management, and security hardening.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting and other tools.

5. SAN Storage Management:

• Configure and manage SAN storage solutions.
• Monitor and optimize storage performance and capacity.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patching of storage systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage related issues to ensure data integrity and availability.

6. General Responsibilities:

• Participate in the planning and execution of infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support application deployments and updates.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and operations.
• Provide 24/7 support for critical infrastructure components as part of an oncall rotation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

A little bit about you:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 years of advanced VMware Virtualization experience; 5 years of advanced Windows Server 2016/2019 experience; 2-3 years of Veritas NetBackup experience; 1-3 years of RHEL experience.
• Proven experience with SAN storage management.
• Certifications: VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Veritas NetBackup certification, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or similar certifications are preferred.
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Availability to work outside regular business hours for maintenance and on-call support.
