Lonza is hiring for HR Manager (1 year contract) role based at our manufacturing site at Tuas , Singapore.

The HR Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the HR Business Partner (HRBP) team in providing hands-on HR Business Partnering support, focusing on Employee Relations & Advisory and HR Operations and Data-Driven HR & Insights. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex ER cases, partner closely with business leaders to deliver practical, risk-based solutions, and leverage HR data to drive meaningful insights and decisions. Ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, operates independently with minimal onboarding, and is passionate about making a real impact on both employee outcomes and business performance.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:

Employee Relations & Advisory

  • Manage end-to-end Employee Relations (ER) cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, misconduct, and performance-related matters.

  • Conduct investigations and fact-finding, ensuring accurate and thorough case documentation.

  • Partner with people managers to provide pragmatic, risk-based ER advice and guidance.

  • Manage employee medical cases in collaboration with managers and Occupational Health Nurse (OHN), including return-to-work planning and follow-up actions.

  • Ensure compliance with Lonza policies and Singapore employment legislation.

  • Identify ER and medical case trends, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and improve workplace practices.

HR Operations & Data-Driven Insights

  • Support and facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation and induction, ensuring a positive employee experience.

  • Assist in the execution of employee engagement initiatives and company events.

  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret HR data (including ER and medical cases), preparing reports and insights for management.

  • Identify patterns, trends, and emerging risks using data analytics, and proactively recommend improvements.

What We’re looking for

  • 8+ years of HR experience, with strong focus on Employee Relations and HR Business Partnering

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • Hands- on experience in employee relations and managing complex and sensitive ER cases independently.

  • Experience in medical case management / return-to-work cases preferred

  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment practices and regulations

  • Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding and deliver immediate impact

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and resilience in handling sensitive matters

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a fast-paced team environment.
