Functional (job responsibilities)Market Segmentation and Targeting- To act as the market and product expert for a defined area by understanding and monitoring market and economic trends that may affect marketplace needs. Develop and understanding of key target markets and industries (“know your customer”);
- Needs/wants; perceived needs/wants
- What benefits are being purchased; what do they value (sensitivities)
- Influence to purchase decision (eg. pricing, service, functionality, technology)
- Legal, regulatory and economic factors which influence product choice and usage
- Competition
- Determine current market penetration and bank’s market share relating to businesses (mentioned above) managed. To continually scan the business environment for new opportunities to increase market share or threats and act as appropriate;
- Size market and revenue opportunities;
- Manage product cost dynamics for managed products with the assistance of supporting units;
- Contribute to the delivery of financial results both in respect of revenues and customer liabilities to provide high level funding to support the various industries asset growth strategy;
- To establish, implement and maintain competitive pricing structures to maximize product profitability and shareholder value. Provide bundling strategies where appropriate, to ensure product or solution profitability;
- Identify and work with vendors (if necessary) to deliver product solutions applicable for use in support of the business. Assess current market offerings where possible, to minimize time to market opportunities;
- Assist in formulating and validation of all proposed solutions prior to delivery to target customers;
- Create market documentation and support materials for customer and industry presentations, industry events, product profiles, etc.
- Carry responsibility over the development and maintenance of all Trade related SOPs owned by Transaction Banking.
- Establish action plan to ensure Sales Team’s successful penetration of target customers and industries;
- Together with the Product Team, plan new product launches to ensure that new products and services meet planned revenue and volumes projections. Develop strategies to gain market share and grow liabilities through new products targeted at acquiring operating accounts;
- Provide product updates to business segments teams, where appropriate;
- Provide technical assistance to formulate comprehensive solutions in facilitating closure of large and/or complex business opportunities;
- Provide technical assistance in response to regional Requests For Proposals.
- To assist the Trade operations in product related matters, who carry primary responsibility for the delivery and of supported products and solutions;
- To identify and manage improvement initiatives in relevant support areas to progressively grow operational support in tandem with business.
- To be responsible for the accurate and timely implementation of all customers deals closed;
- To provide technical consultancy in all customer implementation related areas;
- To assist in the development and implementation of account management plans for the growth management and x-selling to customers managed;
- Provide product consultancy to targeted base of customers to increase share of wallet.
- To lead and supervise the trade & product team ensuring goals are aligned as per management expectation.
- Ensures awareness and full compliance of internal processes, regulations, policies, guidelines, procedures and practices;
Education/Qualification
- Master / Degree in Finance / Economics or equivalent
Experience
- At least 8 – 10 years’ experience in banking / financial industry
- Experience in products / trade operations
