What you’ll be doing:
The Head of Institutional Relations for APAC will join a team within the Global Commercial group focused on building and strengthening relationships with the library and the broader academic community. This position works closely with the regional commercial team to develop and execute a regional approach. Libraries, their institutions, and the needs of their communities are, and remain, important to Taylor & Francis, and this role would be their voice, both internally and externally. The position focuses on three areas:
- Communication and thought leadership around libraries and T&F in APAC
- Collaborating and partnering with institutions and their leadership
- Using expertise to develop and support a strategic framework across business units in support of a long-term engagement and partnership strategy with the academic community
Key Activities:
- Understand, develop, and influence the scholarly communication agenda from the perspective of the academic library within and outside Taylor & Francis, including the library's role in the research process, research data management, user education, and multi-stakeholder engagement. This influence includes commercial approaches, product development, policy insights, editorial approaches, and outreach to the market through communication and marketing channels.
- Identify, develop, and grow strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions, and consortia. Coordinate with key Taylor & Francis colleagues to engage with campus leaders, organize events, and participate in relevant conferences.
- Lead a Library Advisory Board meeting for APAC by identifying and maintaining members and facilitating the meeting.
- Collaborate with priority library organizations and key influential librarians to establish and develop strong relationships
- Attend and speak at events to promote Taylor & Francis as a trusted, innovative, and collaborative partner for the academic community
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues, taking the lead to coordinate when needed to drive sales enablement efforts from the librarian's perspective
- Inform Taylor & Francis stakeholders of higher education trends from the institutional and library perspective
What we’re looking for:
- Deep knowledge of the decision-making processes and roles within libraries and their institutions.
- Familiarity with research policies and practices, including institutional practices around research integrity, impact, and data management.
- Understanding of multi-stakeholder needs of library collections, from access and entitlement, licensing, formats, to acquisition models.
- Library or consortia leadership experience.
- Demonstrated networking abilities among senior library leaders and well-connected with library organizations.
