About the Opportunity

The Compliance function at OKX is responsible for the overall compliance culture at the company. We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and compliance risks. AML/CTF, Sanctions, and regulatory risk management are core pillars of our Compliance programme and key areas of risk that we proactively seek to mitigate. The position reports directly to the Head of Compliance, APAC and will be responsible for managing a team of three.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the development and maintenance of policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and other materials from a regulatory compliance perspective to ensure adherence with MAS regulations applicable to Major Payment Institution license holders.

  • Monitor and assess compliance with laws, regulations and policies, and report areas of concern to management and the Board where needed.

  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities, and serve as the primary point of contact.

  • Direct compliance reviews and investigations, and ensure sufficient resources are in place to provide appropriate coverage of the entity's compliance programme.

  • Maintain oversight of the timely submission of Compliance reports, including reports to management and the board, and other materials as required.

  • Lead special projects and uplift efforts as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Engage cross-functionally (with groups such as Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk) to implement an effective compliance management program in line with the global standards and industry best practices.

  • Provide sound, coherent and commercially minded advice and compliance support on all matters relating to OKX Singapore's activities.


What We Look For In You

  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of solid experience in compliance within the financial services, FinTech or cryptocurrency industries, including experience serving as the primary point of contact with a regulator.

  • At least 5 years proven track record in leading and managing a team.

  • Deep understanding of relevant Singapore laws and MAS regulatory requirements (AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, privacy) and experience leading regulatory engagements.

  • Experience in dealing with audits and/or regulatory examinations.

  • Comprehensive understanding of compliance-related systems such as name screening, customer risk ranking, on-chain transaction monitoring etc.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to work within and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong English communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.


Nice to Haves

  • Prior experience working in a US multinational, matrix environment or ex-regulator

  • Compliance-related certification such as CAMS or CCAS

  • Prior experience working in the crypto industry

  • Proficiency in Mandarin
