Head of APAC Payments Client Onboarding and Transformation - Executive Director
Transform how clients onboard to payments - faster, simpler, and safer. As the Head of APAC Payments Client Onboarding and Transformation (Executive Director) within Global Corporate Banking Onboarding, Asia Pacific, you lead the team responsible for client onboarding and implementation of payments solutions across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. You’ll ensure strong day-to-day delivery while building and executing a transformation agenda that improves speed, quality, and scalability. You’ll use data and sound risk judgment to strengthen controls, surface issues early, and deliver consistent outcomes. You’ll develop inclusive leaders and a high-performing culture where teams can do their best work through change. You’ll collaborate across functions to simplify onboarding and improve the end-to-end client journey.
Our onboarding and implementation team sits at the intersection of client experience, operational delivery, and risk management. We focus on building repeatable, well-controlled processes that scale across markets, client needs, and product complexity. You’ll work in a highly collaborative model with regional and global partners to modernize delivery and continuously improve client outcomes.
Job responsibilities
• Lead the day-to-day client onboarding and implementation for payments solutions, ensuring consistent execution, service quality, and control discipline
• Manage, coach, and develop people leaders and team members, setting clear expectations and accountability for outcomes
• Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to set expectations, manage milestones, and resolve issues throughout onboarding
• Drive transformation initiatives (for example, automation, workflow redesign, straight-through processing, and operating model improvements) while maintaining delivery performance
• Translate onboarding pain points into a prioritized roadmap with measurable outcomes, clear ownership, and sustained improvements
• Partner with product, technology, sales, compliance, and operations teams to simplify onboarding and reduce client friction
• Use operational data, client feedback, and performance metrics to identify trends, prioritize improvements, and communicate impact
• Build scalable operating rhythms for capacity planning, prioritization, and performance management across the organization
• Lead change adoption by aligning stakeholders, managing resistance, and ensuring training, controls, and governance sustain improvements
• Identify risks early, own issue resolution, and ensure appropriate governance, escalation, and control discipline
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 10 years of experience leading transformation and complex service delivery in financial services or other industries
• 5 years of people leadership experience, including leading managers and building accountable, inclusive, high-performing teams
• Demonstrated experience delivering material transformation (process and/or digital) with measurable outcomes (for example, re-engineering, automation, workflow modernization, or operating model change)
• Experience in balancing business-as-usual delivery with strategic change, including managing priorities, capacity, and stakeholder expectations
• Strong risk and control mindset, including ability to identify issues, escalate appropriately, and implement sustainable controls
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills, including clear communication and structured problem-solving under time pressure
• Data and technology literacy, including ability to interpret operational metrics and use insights to improve performance and client experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready updates on progress, risks, and decisions
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Experience in onboarding and implementing payments, cash management, liquidity, or closely related treasury solutions
• Experience in leading regional or multi-market onboarding, implementation, or operations teams
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (for example, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
• Experience designing governance, controls, and operating rhythms that improve consistency at scale
• Cybersecurity and anti-fraud awareness, including protecting sensitive client data and strengthening onboarding integrity
