We are seeking an early career Consultant to support the fast-growing demand for our amazing Sustainable Finance team working across a range of technical areas in the APAC region. This is an opportunity to work with a wide range of projects and clients in the sustainability space where you will have the opportunity to develop your career in an energising and fun environment.
You will be directly involved in delivery of client projects for large national and multinational companies across several industry sectors. This will include supporting complex client projects, ownership of key tasks, as well as responsibility for directly managing smaller projects. You will be encouraged to develop your skills and expertise, as well as your own professional network, internally and externally.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be working daily with Financial Institutions focused on making an impact alongside their returns in emerging markets, many of those are at the forefront of embedding sustainability in their day- to-day approach to business. More specifically, you will:

  • Participate in E&S Due Diligence projects in emerging markets and follow-up on monitoring of action plans (E&S Monitoring).
  • Be the “eyes and ears” of our clients, including on the ground, when making investment decisions, incorporating their requirements and sustainability factors into the advice we give.
  • Always be looking for better, more efficient, ways of doing things – innovation is welcome.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and other industry players.

Skills and experience
Ideally, we would love for you to tick all these boxes but if you can tick most, that is a good start! These technical aspects we seek are:

  • A Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Urban Development, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Sustainable Development, Law or other relevant degrees from a reputable university.
  • An appreciation of the various frameworks within the ESG ecosystem (e.g. IFC Performance Standards (and WBG EHS Guidelines), Equator Principles, ADB ESF, etc.)
  • An excellent grasp of spoken and written English, with other language skills relevant in Asia (e.g. Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Russian) considered a plus. 
  • An excellent attention to detail and a focus on high quality outputs.
  • An excellent working knowledge of the Office MS suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel for field work, if required
  • Demonstrable ability to analyse, and interpret, technical information, to understand and articulate the potential risks and commercial consequences and propose pragmatic, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent people skills, being able to engage and foster relationships across geographies and cultures.
  • Passionate about sustainability, risk management and maximising opportunities.
  • Tenacity, focus and self-learning capabilities.
  • Enjoy working in dynamic and fast-paced projects
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Have the right to work in Singapore (Singaporean/Permanent Resident)
