Short statement:

As the Fugro IOVTEC ambassador, represents the company both internally and externally in the country for the renewables market in Taiwan. Internally, actively building a one-Team Fugro, ensures an inspiring, safe, sustainable, pleasant work environment and attracts new top-talent. Externally, ensures strong relationships with e.g. the local key clients, government, media, academia and suppliers.

Has a holistic vision for Fugro IOVTEC in the country. Understands and actions key opportunities and challenges in the renewable energy market within the country.

Supports the local present and future business and service lines by managing the support staff/shared service centre in country. Acts as the linking pin in the country/sub-region and coordinates between the local business/service lines to support them with the optimal deployment of people and assets in the country.

Hosts and facilitates all required activities for safe business operations and leads the local office facilities including related investments. Ensures compliance with all local statutory, legislation, including employment and tax laws and represents the management of the company to local works councils.

 

Key responsibilities:

1.     Act as the Fugro representative:

Acts as the Fugro IOVTEC representative in the country, both to internal as well as external stakeholders including key clients, governments, media, suppliers, sub-contractors, financial institutes, industry organizations, local authorities, unions, NGO’s, academia.

 

2.     Best people:

Creates an inspiring work environment. Delivers high quality and effective communication to local staff, in line with global and regional communication guidelines.

Ensures attraction of top-talent and retention of existing talent through involvement in career progression planning and development support. Drives diversity in the country.

 

3.     Hosts and facilitates the local business/service lines:

Coordinates between the local Business/Service Lines to support them with the optimal and cost-effective deployment of people and assets within the country. Hosts and facilitates all required activities for efficient execution of the regional business activities in the country.

 

4.     Key client engagement:

Is the local representative of Fugro IOVTEC towards key local clients to ensure cross business line, integrated offering of Fugro services by connecting the local business/service lines.

 

5.     Local financial reporting:

Does not have P&L responsibilities, however ensures effective cost management of cost spent in the country without compromising regional or group development and return.

 

6.     Manages office facilities:

Manages and optimises the local office(s) facilities. Proposes facility investments and divestments towards the Group Director in the region.

 

7.     Support staff/ Shared Services:

If applicable, manages the country-based Shared Services functional support organization (Finance, HR, HSSE, Legal, IT, Tax, Procurement) in close cooperation with the regional staff directors. Ensures a local point of contact for each office location in the country. Ensures proper and balanced allocation of overhead costs to the Business and Service Lines.

 

8.     Local statutory and governance:

Complies with local statutory and legislation including employment and tax laws and represents the management of the company to local works councils.

 

9.     HSSE:

Shows and applies true management commitment and exemplary leadership to deepen and strengthen our safety culture throughout the company and drive adherence of Business / Service Lines and all legal entities to Fugro HSSE Management Systems, policies and standards.

 

10.  Compliance:

Responsible for all staff continuously identifying and applying the Fugro values, complying with the Code of Conduct and adhering to the Fugro Golden rules of HSSE by ensuring a healthy and safe working environment.

 

Experience and Knowledge:

·         Master’s degree in Business or Technical discipline

·         Preferably 8 – 10 years of relevant working experience in which 3 – 8 years are in a management role

·         Excellent communication skills including verbal and written communication

·         Ability to negotiate and influence outcome with others.

·         Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, both internal and external.

·         Result driven and highly motivated

·         This position will be based in Taipei, Taiwan
