Join a Mission-Driven Organization Making a Global Impact
Are you a leader, passionate, analytical, and driven professional looking to make a tangible impact in global sustainability? Do you want to work as a General Field Coordinator? If so, Enveritas is looking for exceptional talent to join our global team and help lead our field operations in Guatemala. This is a full-time employee position.
About Enveritas
Enveritas provides sustainability assurance for the coffee and cocoa industries, assessing social, economic, and environmental practices in supply chains. We operate in over 30 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, helping leading coffee roasters understand and address sustainability challenges. Our unique model ensures that smallholder coffee growers can access sustainable markets without the prohibitive costs of traditional audits.
We believe in pragmatic, integrity-driven approaches that improve the livelihoods of farmers while protecting the environment. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2016, we are committed to creating a world where every coffee farmer has the opportunity to thrive.
The Role
This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your contributions will directly influence how we support sustainable coffee and cocoa production in Guatemala.
As General Field Coordinator, Guatemala, your role will be to help lead stakeholder engagement and help set the strategic direction for operations in Guatemala, while helping to ensure that Enveritas’s integrity and quality standards are maintained and actionable insights are surfaced.
You will report directly to the Regional Hub Lead, Mesoamerica, who will not only guide your responsibilities but also actively collaborate with you to align your unique skills with the organization's evolving needs—ensuring both professional growth and meaningful impact. In this dynamic role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the Americas, including Data & Insights and Field Operations, with a particular focus on Guatemala, driving innovation and sustainability in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Specifically, you will:
- Lead the survey collection process in Guatemala.
- Build strong connections with local partners and stakeholders, including government, exporters, farmers’ organizations, NGOs, and research institutes; we need the support, expertise and goodwill of various partners.
- Lead training of Field Coordinators (FC) and Enumerators – Oversee the onboarding and training of field technicians, ensuring best practices in data collection and quality assurance.
- Develop deep expertise in local sustainability issues; this will enable you to shape policy discussions, farmers’ behaviors, and the decisions of major actors in the Guatemalan coffee sector.
- Surface the trends and insights that will help coffee roasters make data driven decisions about how they strengthen their supply chains in a sustainable manner.
- Manage contracts: Familiarity with negotiating the terms, conditions, costs, and other specifications of a contract while making sure they comply with legal requirements and are legally enforceable. Oversee the execution of the contract, agree on and document any changes.
- Work on new initiatives in collaboration with members of the Enveritas global team, which includes program & field operations managers, data scientists, product managers, software engineers, agronomy, and coffee industry experts.
- Lead ad hoc special projects, which may not necessarily be related to coffee (e.g. cocoa, oil palm)
- List-based Verification Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement – Assist in coordinating Key Sustainability Clusters, strengthen regional partnerships, and communicate key findings to stakeholders.
- Directly administer the Mills and Estates surveys in Guatemala or other origins as necessary.
- Contribute to improvements in data collection tools and methodologies.
- Help draft, review and present sustainability reports to key stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned, including outside of Guatemala.
What We’re Looking For
We seek professionals with a blend of analytical rigor, problem-solving skills, and a deep commitment to sustainability. The ideal candidate should have:
- Min. 3 years of experience in the coffee sector, with evidence of another 1-2 years of significant experience in stakeholder and team management.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (agronomist, plant science, development studies, business, forestry, or related discipline).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with strong ability for effectively conveying concepts through effective written and oral presentations to diverse stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial problem-solving attitude with a high level of rigor and attention to detail.
- A passion for sustainability, with a commitment to making a real-world impact on coffee and cocoa farmers.
- Experience in a multicultural, fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and initiative.
- Based in Guatemala with a native proficiency in Spanish and professional proficiency in English.
- Ability to work independently and balance priorities in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Docs, with familiarity in quantitative data collection tools.
- Willingness to travel regularly across Guatemala and the Americas.
