Gusto is seeking sales professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, consultative environment and are interested in being considered for future start dates in 2026. In these roles, you will own each partner relationship from first conversation to lasting collaboration—delivering exceptional experiences and driving meaningful results for accounting firms and their clients. You’ll guide partners through Gusto’s platform, share best practices, and act as their advocate internally to influence our product direction and roadmap.

While start dates are still being determined for 2026, we’d love to connect! Does this sound like you? Apply below!

About the Role:

Gusto’s Partner Sales organization is growing, and we’re always looking to meet future teammates who are passionate about helping accountants transform the way they serve small businesses. Whether your strengths lie in acquiring new partnerships or nurturing long-term relationships, we’d love to connect.

Our Gusto Pro Sales team partners with accounting firms nationwide to help them onboard their clients to Gusto and unlock the full value of our platform. We’re building a talent pipeline for future Account Executive and Account Manager opportunities—both roles focused on empowering our accountant partners, driving adoption, and growing shared success across the Gusto ecosystem.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Nurture Partner Relationships: Build and manage trusted relationships with accounting firm partners. Grow existing relationships by helping firms activate more clients and deepen their engagement with Gusto.
  • Develop & Close Business: Drive new business by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new firms into the Gusto Pro ecosystem.
  • Empower Partners: Lead consultative conversations that uncover partner needs and align Gusto’s solutions to their business goals.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to improve the partner experience.

Positions available in the future range levels. Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of professional sales experience, (preferably in payroll, HCM, SaaS, or HR tech with a focus on accounting firms).
  • 2+ years of proven success managing or acquiring a book of business with measurable quota attainment.
  • Experience working with accountants, payroll, HR tech, or financial services.
  • Skilled in consultative, relationship-based sales and value-driven conversations.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted between $105,000 OTE to $123,000 OTE in Phoenix; $110,000 OTE to $130,000 OTE in Denver, Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Chicago; and $123,000 OTE to $145,000 OTE in NYC. This OTE is structured with a target 60% base pay and 40% commission pay with an uncapped commission structure. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Gusto.
