Job Overview 

Project Coordinators work under the direction of a project manager to coordinate the logistics of a specific project on a more granular level. They essentially help ensuring that all team members and departments have what they need in order to meet the deadlines and expectations set by the project manager. In order to do this, they must also be familiar with every aspect of the project, pricing, stakeholders, timeline, and budgeting details. 

The project coordinator's goal is to help enable the project manager to focus on broader issues and any problems that may arise by managing the day-to-day details of a project. Sometimes coordinators may eventually expand their responsibilities to include multiple projects or move into project management roles with more oversight. The project coordinator helps keep all parts of the process organized and running according to the plan. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Elaborate price and time estimates for translation projects 
  • Monitor the progress and budget of all projects and provide status updates to the Project Manager 
  • Maintaining spreadsheets for internal and client use, in real-time 
  • Create purchase orders for providers 
  • Prepare files for translation and set-up projects 
  • Write clear and complete project instructions 
  • Review files before delivery to the client 
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with vendors around the globe 
  • Provide administrative support as needed 
  • Facilitate effective communication within the international project team 
  • Contribute to a positive and healthy work environment 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • University degree in translation, linguistics, philology or a related field 
  • Excellent communication in English, written and verbal 
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat) 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to follow directions, prioritize, and schedule tasks 
  • Ability to work under pressure with high volume and short timelines 
  • Effective time management and multitasking skills 
  • Being a positive and proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Knowledge of Translation Management systems and CAT tools is a plus 
  • Other foreign language and experience in a multicultural environment is a plus
