Freelance Content Marketing Specialist — Travel & Lifestyle

The mission HHWT exists because nearly 2 billion Muslim travelers have been an afterthought in the global travel industry. Every article, listing, and campaign we publish is meant to help someone — a mother in Bandung, a family from KL, a solo traveler from Singapore — feel seen and welcome when they travel. This role is about producing the work that delivers on that promise, at quality and at pace.

What you'll do

Core (most of your time):

• Refresh HHWT's existing content library — update articles for SEO, AI search, accuracy, and current relevance
  

• Research and craft new branded and editorial content across the lifestyle and travel verticals
  

• Apply SEO and AI-search principles in everything you publish — so the work is found, not just written
  

• Use modern content tools to move faster without losing voice
  

Secondary:

• Craft platform-native social content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok that drives organic traffic back to the web
  

• Help grow our social channels through consistent, smart posting — not volume for volume's sake
  

• Can commit at least 4 hours/day, Mon–Fri, within SG/MY working hours
  

• Min 3 years of content marketing experience, with a focus on article and editorial writing
  

• Travel or lifestyle content background
  

• Demonstrated experience growing social media accounts (FB, IG, TikTok)
  

• Working knowledge of SEO and AI-search (AISEO) principles — keyword strategy, search intent, structured content, how content surfaces in AI overviews
  

• Basic analytics fluency (Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, TikTok analytics) — you can read what's working and adjust
  

• Direct experience working with clients
  

• Strong English writing
  

• Regional understanding — Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia are three different audiences, not one
  

Nice to haves

• Experience producing content in the Muslim lifestyle or halal travel vertical
  

• Mastery of AI content creation tools and workflows
  

• Regional campaign management experience (multi-market activations)
  

• Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia
  

• Short-form video scripting (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)
  

The reality HHWT is a small, bootstrapped team. You'll work independently, move fast, and see your work live within days, not months. We start with a paid test project before any retainer commitment. If the fit is right, this becomes a long-term relationship.
