PURPOSE
The responsibilities of this role are primarily to support the Senior Finance Reporting Manager / Head of Financial Reporting in leading the financial reporting functions, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of all deliverables.
KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables, with a particular focus on IFRS 17 reporting.
- Assist in analyzing financial data and business partnering activities.
- Assist in drafting annual financial statements.
- Liaise with Group Office on financial reporting & tax related matters
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, regulators and IRAS officers.
- Actively seek process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency within the Financial Reporting function.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects when required.
- Knowledge and experience in tax regulatory submissions are an added advantage, including annual corporate tax reporting, transfer pricing documentation, and GST returns.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g. ACCA/CPA), with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in the Life insurance industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting regulations, particularly IFRS 17.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve optimal outcomes for both the business and customers.
- Solid understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Proficient in Oracle accounting systems and familiar with policy systems, including AS400.
- Knowledge and experience in industry best practices to drive continuous improvement within the department.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, well-organized and systematic.
- Highly self-motivated and delivery-focused, with strong problem-solving skills.
