Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining Intimates as an Industrial & Systems Engineering based at Ratmalana to ensure that the Industrial Engineering function in the respective accounts aligned to the business requirements, submitting costed SMV in a competitive, timely and accurate manner to meet customers target price points, whilst generating SMV savings via method & process improvements to retain earnings and ensuring manufacturing feasibility of methods and processes, submission of GSD SMV to planning and manufacturing in a timely and accurate manner.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare accurate SMVs (Standard Minute Value) using GSD methodology for development and production styles, considering garment construction, machinery, product capability, and manufacturing limitations.

  • Attend Tech Pack and development meetings to analyze product requirements and recommend production-feasible sewing constructions and methods.

  • Develop detailed GSD operation breakdowns and ensure accurate standard minute values are provided within agreed timelines.

  • Support Fact Based Costing (FBC) initiatives by providing competitive and accurate SMV data to optimize FOB (Free on Board) and CM values while maintaining profitability.

  • Drive product re-engineering, method improvements, and process innovations to reduce SMVs, enhance productivity, and generate cost savings.

  • Provide provisional and final SMV breakdowns to manufacturing plants for capacity booking, machine planning, manpower allocation, and production scheduling.

  • Collaborate with factory teams during integration, pre-production, and production stages to resolve GSD, method and operational concerns and ensure smooth production start-up.

  • Standardize methods, GSD practices, and SMV applications across divisions to maintain consistency, accuracy and continuous improvement in industrial engineering standards.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Degree in Physical Science with strong Statistical and Mathematical background, Apparel and Textiles Engineering or NDT (National Diploma in Technology) from a recognized institute.

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar role within a production or manufacturing environment and ability to make effective decisions and resolve operational issues in a timely and practical manner.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing positively to shared goals and supporting overall team success and capability to manage and guide team members to maintain productivity and workplace efficiency

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to efficiently manage documents, data, and presentations.

  • Ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and professional manner, both verbally and in writing, to engage stakeholders and ensure alignment.

  • GSD (UK) license will be an added advantage.
