Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager, operating in all liquid asset classes across the world. We are a technology and data driven group implementing a scientific approach to investing. Combining data, research, technology, and trading expertise has shaped our collaborative mindset, which enables us to solve the most complex challenges. QRT’s culture of innovation continuously drives our ambition to deliver high quality returns for our investors.

We are seeking a strategically grounded, technically fluent leader to run our Global Business Continuity Management (BCM). Embedded within the Technology function and reporting to the Head of Technology, this role is responsible for defining, leading, and operationalizing the firm-wide BCM framework. The BCM Lead will serve as a bridge between technology and the business—ensuring that continuity is engineered into infrastructure and applications while maintaining tight alignment with business needs and risk tolerance.

The ideal candidate combines strong program leadership with the ability to engage at depth with software developers, infrastructure engineers, and business COOs. This is a critical hands-on role in an environment where operational resilience is fundamental to success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Ownership & Execution
    • Lead the global BCM strategy and program execution across all geographies, business lines, and technology domains.
    • Define and maintain the BCM framework (including Disaster Recovery), policies, standards, and tooling in partnership with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
    • Serve as the central point of coordination for business continuity activities across Technology, Facilities, and Business Operations teams.
  • Technical Depth & Partnership
    • Actively collaborate with engineers, architects, and developers to ensure business-critical systems are designed for resilience, recoverability, and fault tolerance.
    • Review and influence solution designs and infrastructure architectures to align with continuity objectives (e.g., RTO/RPO, failover zones, replication, backup strategies).
    • Drive hands-on engagement in the remediation of gaps, system recovery validation, and incident post-mortems.
  • Business & COO Collaboration
    • Work closely with COOs, business unit leaders, and front-office teams to ensure continuity plans reflect real-world process dependencies and operational risks.
    • Support business-led BIA (Business Impact Analysis) activities with technical input, and integrate findings into system recovery planning.
    • Facilitate aligned testing cycles that simulate both technical and operational recovery under realistic conditions.
  • Recovery Planning & Testing
    • Oversee comprehensive technical and functional testing programs: DR tests, application recovery drills, and crisis management tabletop exercises.
    • Define and monitor RTO/RPO for all Tier 0/Tier 1 applications, and maintain an accurate, actionable catalog of system dependencies and recovery plans.
  • Governance, Reporting & Compliance
    • Maintain a robust set of BCP KPIs and dashboards to track readiness across the enterprise.
    • Report program status and risks to Technology leadership and cross-functional governance bodies.
    • Ensure audit-readiness, compliance and client/regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, or Operational Resilience within complex, technology-driven organizations.
  • Deep technical literacy and hands-on familiarity with modern enterprise architecture, application stacks, cloud platforms, and production operations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with developers, engineers, infrastructure teams, and solution architects.
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills with business stakeholders, especially COOs and front-office functions.
  • Track record of leading BCM and DR programs in financial services, trading, or other time-sensitive and regulated environments.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, SRE, CISSP) are a plus.

What You Bring

  • You think like an engineer and act like a program leader.
  • You’re comfortable in code reviews, system diagrams, or a COO strategy session.
  • You bring clarity and confidence during crises, and proactively build the systems to avoid them.
  • You value strong governance, but your focus is on practical execution and real resilience.
