Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Yield Enhancement Engineer to join our dynamic semiconductor manufacturing team. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with a background in wafer fabrication and a keen interest in test and failure analysis. You will play a key role in improving product yield, analyzing process and test data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives and developing basic machine learning tools using large scale manufacturing data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze wafer process data to identify yield improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis on defective wafers and devices.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in DOE data analysis and interpretation.
  • Support new product introduction and process optimization projects.
  • Participate in regular yield review meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to engineering and management teams.
  • Develop and maintain scripts or software tools to automate data analysis and reporting.
  • Data cleaning and feature engineering and develop machine learning tools for yield analysis.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics or Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer processing, or yield engineering (internships and academic projects count).
  • Good understanding of wafer fabrication processes and semiconductor device physics.
  • Experience or coursework in failure analysis techniques (e.g. electron microscopy, elemental spectroscopy, electrical testing at wafer/assembly).
  • Strong statistical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Power BI/JMP/R)
     

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and yield management systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, VBA, SQL or similar) for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and safety procedures.
  • Experience in building machine learning models.
