Let’s talk about the Engineering team:

 

The Electronics Team in Product Development is responsible for designing and developing all the electronic parts within our devices. This work includes elements of component selection, supplier management, calculation, simulation, design, verification including compliance testing, and troubleshooting prototype issues. The team handles transfer of the design to manufacturing.

 

The Electronics Team collaborates closely with Project management, and the other key engineering disciplines of Systems, Mechanical, and Software. The Team also liaises regularly with other departments such as Product Management, Global Supplier Alliance, Quality, Regulatory, Medical Affairs and Manufacturing.

Let’s talk about the Product team:

 

The Diagnostics Product Team within Resmed's Devices Product Development department is responsible for developing products which meet the needs of patients who want to determine if they have sleep disorders such as apnea or those who want to monitor their health while being treated. Its output includes sensor technology, processing algorithms, and low energy, battery powered, wirelessly connected devices.

It interacts with other related product teams such as mobile apps, server software and therapeutic device teams. It’s a fast growing area of Resmed’s ecosystem and one with incredible opportunity to directly benefit millions of patients.

 

Let’s talk about Responsibilities

  • Design and verify circuits including the following elements: Sensors, Microcontrollers, Wireless Communications, Power and Battery Management.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams within Resmed including Mechanical, Systems,  Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Materials, Component Engineering, Quality, and Global Supplier Alliance, just to name a few.

  • Liaise with our key suppliers on evaluating and potentially co-developing our next generation of components & external subsystems.

  • Build and debug prototypes and concept demonstrators to prove out new ideas and technology.

  • Strives for best practice and continues to build domain knowledge.

  • And finally: Feel great about designing & building products that not only change lives but can also save lives!

 

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience

 

Required:

  • You have an Electronics Engineering degree or equivalent, and good working knowledge of electronic components and design techniques.

  • 3+ years of relevant working experience

  • You will have experience with schematic capture, component placement and PCB layout.

  • You must be an effective and frequent communicator with team members, peers, managers, and external stakeholders, particularly when there are roadblocks to development progress.

Preferred:

  • To get us really excited, you have some industry experience in a product development environment creating high quality, volume products, preferably in a medical device or other industry where product quality is most important.

  • Experience in taking a design from conception through to mass production.

  • Ability to apply problem solving skills across a variety of different designs and disciplines in the electronics space.
