Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Sales Director, Korea  

This Sales Director, Korea, supports the business development team and is focused on supporting Korean battery OEMs in the US and Europe. This position will handle most of the important negotiations with the purchasing and its management in Korea as well.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Establish relationships with various business organizations (purchasing, R&D, Quality, sustainability etc) at various levels.
  • Understand customers’ projects/programs in detail and align our resources to the right program and priorities. Align the priorities with our Korean partners as well.
  • Manage the product qualification with customers, understanding the technical issues, and communicate with key stakeholders internally and externally to manage the qualification timeline and customers’ expectations.
  • Negotiate the various contracts (volume, prices, all other T&Cs) with customers.
  • Understand customers’ value chain and influences of each player in the value chain. Direct global resources to manage the global value chain appropriately.
  • Understand industry and technology trends and communicate internally for strategic discussion. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • University degree. A technical background helps but not required.
  • 10+ years of experience in Sales/business/Technical sales.
  • Automotive and/or Lithium-Ion Battery industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in English for global communication to lead the account management.
  • Strong Leadership skills with logical communication.
  • People skills to develop good relationships with customers, even when the situation is very tough.
  • People skills to respect others and motivate the rest of the team.    
  • Any experience in managing partners, i.e. JV partners, and alliance partners will help.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
