We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Leader to join our Corporate Tax team as Director, Regional Tax, Greater Asia.

Your Focus
As Director for Regional Tax, you will primarily lead the tax function of IFF Greater Asia region in areas of tax planning matters, provision and compliance matters, tax audit, defense, as well as treasury aspects. Embracing continuous process improvements in all aspects of the role, you will focus on full integration of IFF Greater Asia various businesses tax functions.

This is a Singapore based position reporting into VP, Global Tax Planning & Strategy.

How you will Lead and Contribute

Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, Compliance and Provision

  • Oversee the review of corporate income tax returns of Greater Asia entities prepared by service providers and ensure timely filing, completeness, and accuracy of such returns.

  • Identify and implement strategies to drive efficiencies in the corporate tax filing, compliance, and reporting processes.

  • Ownership of regular tax provisions and uncertain tax positions reviews for all Greater Asia entities and provide constructive real time feedback, ensuring overall consistency with FAS 109 and ASC 740.

  • Oversee the review of transfer pricing reports of Greater Asia entities prepared by service providers and ensure timely filing, completeness, and accuracy of such reports.

Planning and Research

  • Planning IFF operations across Greater Asia to minimize taxes consistent with overall corporate objectives.

  • In many instances, you will liaise directly with cross-functional teams throughout the course of implementation of projects.

  • Research complex tax issues for tax planning, tax accounting, compliance and reporting, and support Regional Tax projects, including reorganization and post-acquisition integration.

Audit Defense

  • Organize and supervise the preparation of ruling requests, refund claims, objections, protests and administrative appeals relating to Greater Asia entities under tax audits, investigation and litigation.

  • Discuss audit findings with revenue authorities and negotiate positions.

Treasury Matters

  • Review dividends proposed and withholding tax implications.

  • Collaborate with Treasury to develop tax-efficient funding strategies that are in line with the goals of the company and execute on such strategies.

Law Updates

  • Advise senior management of the impact of new laws, court decisions, regulations, rulings, and proposed tax legislation.

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA or MBA in Tax.

  • Minimum 13 years of diverse Corporate Tax experience from a Public Accounting Firm or large Multinational Corporation. Public Accounting experience is highly preferred.

  • Proven track record of at least 8 years of team management experience.

  • Thorough understanding of FAS 109 and proficient with tax provision reviews.

  • Understanding of Singapore compliance principles and requirements.

  • Knowledge of tax-accounting principles is necessary, advance analytical skills is essential.

  • Solid collaboration skills with the ability to work with senior management and across levels or function to effectively achieve desired results.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders such as legal, accounting, treasury and external liaison.

  • Pragmatic business acumen with the ability to recognize or understand the business strategies, priorities, goals and consequences of tax advisory.

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills such as project organization and time management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel or Advance Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

  • Adaptability to consistently changing facts or environment.

  • High energy and drive, including an ability to work beyond regular business hours, as necessary.

  • Demonstrative willingness to be a collaborative and consultative leader or team player with the ability to work independently and efficiently.

  • Willing to travel.
