Role Description
As a Director in the Power & Renewables (P&R) Consulting APAC team, you will be a senior member supporting the Head of P&R Consulting APAC in growing the practice. The role requires a combination of leadership, management, project direction on consulting mandates, business winning capabilities and wider development of the P&R consulting team. The individual will have to be able to develop and manage the relationship which exists between Wood Mackenzie and its key clients in the P&R sector. This will specifically entail:

Increasing P&R consulting revenues and sustaining the profitability of Wood Mackenzie consulting projects and multi-client studies

Developing networks and relationships that lead to a deep understanding of the client’s needs and therefore future consulting requirements

Working closely within the global P&R practice group including both consulting and research to promote best practice in our existing offerings and take a key role in the future development of the consulting offerings

Supporting the engagement of the P&R practice with our internal sales and marketing teams
-
The role is high-profile both internally and externally and influential in Wood Mackenzie achieving its goals globally
Main Responsibilities
Business Development

Pro-actively maintain a high-level of client interaction across the region, with specific focus on key clients, to source and develop strong relationships and a solid, repeatable, profitable consulting business

Demonstrate ability to offer a different value-add to the existing consulting offerings and/or geographically
-
Drive proposal efforts for consulting engagements and multi-client studies

Help formulate innovative approaches to client questions that maximize value for Wood Mackenzie and enable the development of new capabilities
Project Delivery

Manage client relationships and expectations during engagements and ensure commitments to the client are met

Lead client projects, working with clients and our Wood Mac team to ensure high quality, insightful results that support our clients’ strategic decisions

Ensure consulting projects are delivered in line with anticipated budgets and timelines to generate expected economic outcomes for Wood Mackenzie
People Development and Thought Leadership

Build and maintain an internal network (across consulting, research, and sales) to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients and Wood Mackenzie

Actively coach teammates, advancing the development of consulting skills and processes across the consulting practice

Generate innovative ideas and approaches to industry issues that further enhance the value Wood Mackenzie can create for our clients

Knowledge & Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as business, economics, finance, statistics, or engineering
-
10+ years of relevant experience in a management consulting or energy-focused consulting role (preferred) and/or other strategic/commercial (i.e. market analysis, business development, strategy & planning) industry roles related to P&R
-
Experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients or senior decision makers
-
Strong presentation skills, including presenting strategic insight to senior management and potential for public speaking engagements at industry conferences
-
Superior people management and leadership skills to hone and utilise diverse talents within our team
-
Proficiency in specific Asian language skills including Korean, Japanese, Bahasa Indonesia will be highly beneficial and regarded (Korean language compulsory for Korea based candidates)
