Role summary  

We are looking for an experienced leaderto join our Checkout business line asDirector, Head of Operations & Risk This role will lead Operations and oversee Risk functions, ensuring seamless merchant onboarding, E2E merchant operation lifecycle responsibility, robust risk controls, and scalable processes that support our rapid growth while exceeding Operations & Risk KPIs.  

You willroll up your sleevesand work closely with your teams, driving operational excellence, implementing risk frameworks and processes, and enabling a best-in-class merchant experience. The role requiresclose collaboration with commercial teams, strong business orientation, and a sharp understanding of market needsto ensure our solutions remain competitive and customer-focused.

What you’ll do  

  • Lead & Inspire:Manage and develop global teams of operations and risk specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, customer centricity, and continuous improvement. 
  • E2E Merchant Operation Lifecycle Responsibility: Oversee merchant onboarding, Customer and GTM support, Financial operation, Chargebacks & pre dispute representment, and payment optimization. 
  • Operational Excellence: Build & Optimize operational workflows, and first-line merchant support processes. Identify gaps, streamline processes, and implement scalable solutions including use of AI & advanced tech tools.  
  • Risk Leadership:Oversee the execution of risk policies across underwriting, fraud prevention, and credit risk management for merchants and buyers in the PSP space .  
  • Be Hands-On:Dive into operational and risk processes to ensure critical issues are resolved quickly and effectively.  
  • Data-Driven Decisions:Leverage data and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive informed decision-making across risk and operations.  
  • Cross-Functional  Collaboration:Partner with Product, Commercial teams and Compliance to align on business objectives, mitigate risks, and deliver exceptional merchant experiences   
  • Scale for Growth:Build frameworks and processes that enable rapid scaling while maintaining compliance, risk appetite and cost optimization  
  • Budget & Vendor Management: Own team budgets and manage relationships with vendors to ensure cost efficiency and service quality.  

Who you are  

  • Experience:10+ years in operations and/or risk management (underwriting, fraud, and credit risk) within the payments industry, preferably at a global PSP.  
  • Leadership:Proven track record managing global teams (5+ FTE) across multiple geographies.  
  • Expertise:Deep understanding of payment flows, merchant acquiring, and risk frameworks.  
  • Tech-Savvy:Comfortable with data analytics, automation tools, and technology-driven solutions.  
  • Strategic & Hands-On:Ability to think big while executing operational details with precision.  
  • Communication:Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels.
