Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits a candidate with strong entrepreneurial spirit and a strong business builder. Someone who has a strong understanding of the Singapore Intermediary business, to continue to build on the successes, drive change and accelerate growth.  The Head of Intermediary Business will be accountable for driving growth, bring best practices and put in place / enhance current processes and targets, manage accountability and drive KPIs. 

Specifically, we are looking for an accomplished leader with a wealth of experience, expertise, and proven results in the intermediary fund management marketing to play a pivotal role to lead and grow our intermediary business in Singapore. This person should have a driven passion, client focus mindset and the ability to work closely with professionals across UOBAM Group to develop and deliver sophisticated investment products, solutions and deliver top-tier client services. This role will be required to lead a team and will report to the Chief Marketing Office at UOBAM Singapore.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute the Singapore retail intermediary distribution strategy to drive sustainable AUM growth across key channels including retail banks, private banks, IFAs, licensed financial advisory firms, digital platforms, and insurers, in alignment with the firm’s growth objectives.
  • Lead business development efforts in Singapore, building and maintaining senior‑level relationships with key distributors, product committees, and decision‑makers to secure platform placement, expand shelf space, and drive product adoption.
  • Leverage existing intermediary relationships through proactive, structured engagement plans, including regular business reviews, joint sales initiatives, advisor training, and targeted campaigns to increase flows and deepen partnerships.
  • Effectively leverage group or bank partnerships (where applicable) within Singapore, collaborating across internal stakeholders to align product offerings, commercial terms, and go‑to‑market strategies with intermediary and adviser needs.
  • Lead and manage the Singapore retail intermediary sales team, setting clear performance expectations, coaching and developing talent, and ensuring disciplined sales execution.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Portfolio Management, Product, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, and Legal to ensure aligned delivery of client outcomes and consistent messaging to intermediaries.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of intermediary‑focused sales materials, including product presentations, due diligence responses, RFPs, training content, and client proposals, while negotiating commercial arrangements in line with governance standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with MAS regulations, internal policies, and distribution guidelines, including those relating to CIS, unit trusts, ILPs, accredited and retail investor segmentation.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to design and execute Singapore‑specific marketing initiatives, advisor engagement programmes, conferences, and campaigns that are compliant, timely, and commercially effective.
  • Monitor market, regulatory, and competitive developments in Singapore, including MAS regulatory changes, distributor trends, and product demand, and adapt strategies accordingly.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in investment sales, distribution, or marketing within asset management, with strong exposure to Singapore retail intermediary channels.
  • Proven track record of driving asset growth in Singapore through banks, IFAs, platforms, insurers, or FA firms, with demonstrated ability to execute and convert opportunities into funded mandates.
  • Well‑established relationships with key Singapore distributors, including retail banks, private banks, and leading IFA / FA firms, with the ability to activate networks quickly.
  • Prior experience leading and managing a sales team, preferably within a Singapore or regional distribution setup, with a strong results‑oriented leadership approach.
  • Strong understanding of MAS regulatory requirements, fund distribution frameworks, and product structures such as unit trusts, ETFs, and ILPs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the credibility to engage senior stakeholders, product committees, and advisers.
  • Highly driven, commercially minded, and resilient, with strong initiative, ownership, and the ability to perform under pressure in a competitive Singapore market.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, across regional offices and multiple internal functions.
  • Strong product knowledge across asset classes and investment strategies, with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions and support adviser‑led client conversations.
  • CFA accreditation and/or prior investment or fund management experience would be a strong advantage.
