Where we Work

Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

This role is based in Dublin. 

About your skills 

Enterprise Leadership Experience

  • Revenue growth: Successful track record in an enterprise sales leadership role. Skilled in forecasting, pipeline generation, pipeline management, and driving predictable, scalable growth across multiple markets.
  • Outbound Mindset: You possess a proactive outbound mindset, driven to identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with prospects, effectively communicate value and supported by your research and rigor throughout the process. You can lead a team in a proactive manner where hustle is a key part of this leadership role.
  • Business acumen: Experience managing and operating in different  customer industries (finance services, professional services, manufacturing, technology, retail, etc.) and aligning solutions with business outcomes.
  • Enterprise-level deal structuring: Experience managing long, complex sales cycles with C-suite stakeholders.

 Leadership & People Development

  • Leadership experience: Extensive experience directly managing Enterprise sales account executives (at least 10 years experience is a necessity).
  • Coaching-first approach: Builds and develops high-performing account executives through mentoring, deal coaching, and skill development.
  • Inspiring leadership: Sets a vision, motivates teams, and fosters resilience in highly competitive environments.
  • Talent management: Experience in successful staff retention & hiring is critical to this role.

EMEA Leadership Experience

  • Regional go-to-market expertise: Understands how to tailor strategies and sales execution across the major EMEA geographies.
  • Cultural intelligence: Experience leading across diverse cultures, languages, and regulatory environments.

Customer-Centric Approach

  • Executive presence: Experience building trusted relationships with C-level - CEO, CHRO, CIO, CFO, etc. Experience in leading teams in this manner.
  • Solution selling: Skilled in value-based and consultative sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC).
     

Operational Excellence

  • Data-driven management: Uses CRM, systems, tools and sales analytics in an effective and efficient manner to drive accountability, forecast accuracy, and decision-making.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate this experience and capability.
  • Scalable processes: Establishes frameworks for deal reviews, territory planning, and account prioritization.
  • Cross-functional alignment: Collaborates with customer success, sales operations, marketing, product, legal, finance, etc. to support enterprise growth.

Change Leadership & Adaptability

  • Resilient in disruption: Manages uncertainty, such as shifting market dynamics, competition, or geopolitical challenges.
  • Transformation leader: Successful track record of guiding teams through change - internal changes, digital transformation, AI adoption, etc.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, scale-up/start-up environment, but also an interest in helping build sustainable processes

About this role

  • The Director, EMEA Strategic Enterprise Sales based in Ireland will play an active role as a member of the EMEA senior sales leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing the daily and long-term goals of their team and the overall business. In this role, you will often be responsible for setting and adjusting sales goals based on deep knowledge of our customers with your analytical mindset. Additionally you will be responsible for training, coaching and mentoring your field Strategic Enterprise Sales team as well as collaborating with additional internal/external partners at all levels and various locations.

What you’ll be doing  

  • Lead a highly experienced team of strategic enterprise Account Executives focused on positioning and selling our solutions to our top EMEA customers & prospects.
  • Drive top-line revenue growth through new customer acquisition and solution expansion within our existing account base.
  • Own and manage team forecasting and pipeline opportunity development and reporting.
  • Develop, coach and lead your team to perform at a high level.
  • Connect with and influence customers and prospects at the senior leadership level.
  • Establish strategic plans and objectives to drive desired business growth.
  • Partner with internal Udemy Business teams to drive market growth and team performance, including related sales, marketing and support resources.
  • Develop and manage talent pipeline to drive team growth.
  • Travel with your team members to visit customers and prospects across the region.

What you’ll have  

  • 10+ years of experience in successful sales leadership, including leading Enterprise Account Executives.
  • Ability to speak more than one European language preferred.
  • Demonstration of recent positive sales results in a leadership position required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow sales professionals, maximizing performance and exceeding team goals.
  • Experience developing and executing regional sales plans and forecasts, addressing new customer acquisition and existing customer growth.
  • A proven track record for hiring, developing, motivating, and retaining key talent
  • Strong drive for results, while retaining a focus on consistently delivering a great customer experience
  • Creativity and proficiency in supporting sales cycles, including “top of funnel” prospecting activity, opportunity qualification, developing joint close plans, negotiating and closing sales, and driving upsells.
  • Proven effectiveness working across functional teams.
  • SaaS Human Capital/Talent Management software experience, a plus.
