Job Description

Team Summary

The Cross-Border team is a global team that plays a pivotal role in the company, focusing on the development and execution of Cross-Border business strategies. The Cross-border team leverages data, insights, and best practices from across travel, e-commerce and emerging verticals to develop and deploy initiatives, working across functions and markets to significantly enhance Visa’s cross-border performance.

Reporting to the Head of Cross-Border, Asia Pacific, this role will help to redefine Visa’s Asia Pacific Cross-Border Travel strategy and bring it to market.

What a Director of Cross-Border Travel, Asia Pacific does at Visa:

  • Support the development and execution of Visa’s Cross Border Travel strategy in the Asia Pacific region, including corridor activations, new product development, cardholder value propositions, marketing approaches, etc.
  • Identify partnership opportunities across the travel value chain to deliver Client & cardholder preference, such as key travel partners (airlines, lodging, OTAs), tourism board partnerships, industry affiliations, offers and benefits
  • Developing an aligned perspective on key traveler archetypes and journeys, with clear articulation of interventions needed to stimulate cross border active card/account and payment volume growth across priority corridors. Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader for driving travel corridor activations with key traveler archetypes
  • Defining cross-functional operating models and driving accountability with functional and market teams to deliver key cross border initiatives. This role will need to collaborate across market and regional Sales, Product, Value Added Services, Marketing, and Advisory teams
  • Partner cross functionally with Data Science, Economic Insights & Research teams to define and deliver Travel trends & insights to ensure our cross-corridor strategies keep pace with market trends
  • Contribute to Visa’s public positioning as a Travel thought leader through the development, publication and maintenance of a Future of Travel narrative with our Product teams, incorporating concepts such as impacts of Generative AI, payment trends, social media and emerging technologies
  • Ideate on, assess feasibility and drive the development & implantation of new and innovative travel related solutions and capabilities to enrich the traveler journey and drive Visa preference
  • Synthesize key learnings of successful spend stimulation engagements into playbooks to enable sales activities and accelerate scaling of best practices across the region

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in product management, strategy, consulting or innovation.
  • Knowledge of payment industry products, services and technologies, eCommerce and Cross-Border business
  • Partnership experience managing benefit & loyalty platform providers and/or travel ecosystem participants (including issuers, OTAs, hotels, tourism boards, airlines etc) highly valued
  • Experience driving usage & activation across travel centric card portfolios
  • Strong sense of ownership and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal, and written communications skills - capable of developing well-structured communications
