Role Description:

The Director, Business Development for ANZ reporting to the Managing Director International and Chief Revenue Officer is responsible for building internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to release the strategic growth and profitability objectives of capSpire. In addition to leading sales and client relationship management, the Director, Business Development ANZ will track new markets, trends, recommend new services and products, grow strategic partnerships, write proposals and help to guide the long-term business objectives to meet strategic business requirements. The Director, Business Development ANZ in Sydney will collaborate with multiple teams across the organization and will be involved in leading strategic business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive increasing business revenue, identify and develop new opportunities and build and expand the presence of the company and its brand. Specific KPI’s, targets and quotas will be determined in collaboration with the Managing Director International and Chief Revenue Officer.
  • Source and drive new opportunities to increase sales funnel quantum and value, continuously replenishing to be in line with the company’s growth trajectory.
  • Design and implement a sales strategy within your region targeting new market segments to amplify revenue growth across the range of capSpire service offerings and contribute to the delivery of increased EBITDA.
  • Track new markets and emerging trends, recommend new services and products, propose and develop new strategic partnerships.
  • Actively build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects through strategic networking, industry events, and proactive outbound sales initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to craft compelling lead generation campaigns that captivate and convert.
  • Directly engage with potential clients to fully understand their needs and craft customized solutions that leverage capSpire capabilities to meet their goals.
  • Lead negotiations and close substantial deals, while nurturing enduring relationships with key stakeholders for sustained growth.
  • Work in tandem with capSpire leadership, internal teams including delivery, consulting, operations and marketing teams to ensure our offerings continually evolve to meet client requirements and exceed expectations.
  • Keep a pulse on market trends and competitor movements to adapt strategies effectively and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Promptly respond to inbound leads with accurate and consultative feedback, ensuring a professional first impression.
  • Provide weekly reports on commercial performance, showcasing effective pipeline management, strategic action planning, and data-informed decisions.


 Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in IT and business professional services with proven record of developing and closing new business within the Energy, Commodities and Finance sectors is essential.
  • Experience of selling IT and professionals services to Supply and Trading operations within the Energy, Commodities and Finance sectors is highly desirable.
  • Practical and proven expertise to develop and eventually break into a target set of prospective clients through various channels such as marketing, events, alliances, networking etc.
  • Experience working within the Energy, Commodities and Finance sector, as well as connections within your industry that will facilitate access to clients and opportunities.
  • Experience of leading RFP processes in conjunction with managing new business development strategies is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in managing and influencing senior stakeholders, fostering significant long-term relationships.
  • Collaborator who fosters trusted-advisor relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply a data-driven sales approach to include research and business intelligence.
  • A highly strategic and consultative approach, coupled with an inherent curiosity and a strong drive to pioneer new ideas and solutions.
