The Senior Director, Global Automation will:Define and execute a multi-year enterprise automation and systems integration roadmap.
Deliver lighthouse automation programs that establish scalable standards.
Lead global governance, architecture, and deployment frameworks.
Build and scale the automation operating model across manufacturing and distribution.
Ensure automation investments translate into measurable improvements in throughput, quality, service, cost, safety, and reliability.
Enterprise Strategy, Architecture and Governance
Define the global automation and systems integration vision aligned to supply chain network strategy and growth plans.
Collaborate with Digital and Operational leaders to establish global standards and reference architectures for OT/IT integration, including:
PLC / SCADA
MES
WMS / WCS
Robotics and material handling systems
Historians and IoT platforms
Edge computing and analytics layers
Advise automation investment prioritization, lifecycle management, cybersecurity posture, and value realization.
Implement engineering rigor across the solution lifecycle: requirements definition, validation, commissioning, ramp, documentation, and change control.
Automation Programs and Scalable Deployment
Lead a portfolio of automation initiatives across manufacturing, test, packaging lines, intralogistics, and distribution automation.
Convert automation outcomes into standardized deployment kits, including:
Architecture patterns
Technical specifications
Training frameworks
Cybersecurity standards
Operational handover criteria
Drive repeatable multi-site deployment using segmentation models and maturity-based roadmaps.
Build and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs, integrators, and software providers.
Global Automation Operating Model
Establish and lead a Global Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) or community of practice across regions.
Define clear RACI models spanning Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Digital.
Embed reliability-by-design principles including predictive maintenance, spares strategy, and uptime management.
Integrate automation performance into daily management systems and KPI governance at site level.
Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, EHS, Finance, PMO, Procurement, and Digital.
Systems Integration and Performance Visibility
Ensure seamless integration of automation platforms with enterprise systems and upstream/downstream processes.
Standardize performance dashboards across sites, including:
Throughput and cycle time
OEE and yield
Labor productivity
Service level (OTIF)
Safety performance
Leverage simulation, digital twins, and statistical modeling to validate capacity and ROI before deployment.
Ensure cyber-secure-by-design implementation across OT environments.
Capital Portfolio and Benefits Realization
Own automation business case governance, including baseline definition and post-implementation verification.
Manage a global automation CapEx and OpEx portfolio.
Implement KPI-driven stage gates from concept through stabilization.
Ensure formal operational handover criteria are achieved prior to project closure.
15+ years of experience in industrial automation, systems integration, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain automation.
7+ years leading multi-site or enterprise-level transformation programs.
Demonstrated success delivering lighthouse automation and scaling globally across factories and/or distribution centers.
Strong expertise in OT/IT convergence and enterprise integration architectures.
Experience with robotics, AS/RS, conveyors, AMRs/AGVs, automated test or packaging systems.
Proven senior stakeholder leadership and operating model transformation capability.
Strong commercial acumen in managing OEMs, integrators, and technology partners.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related). Advanced degree preferred.

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: $191,000 - $287,000 USD.
