At LionsBot, we design robots that are built in Singapore, manufactured at scale and deployed globally, joining an award-winning product line.
As a Design Engineer, you will make sure the design survives the journey from concept to production. You will engineer the body systems, touchpoints and plastic parts of our robots: the shells, panels, handlebars and interfaces that people see and touch every day. You will work alongside our industrial designers and our mechanical, electrical and autonomy engineers, and see your parts go from first print to tooled production.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngineer robot body systems and enclosures from approved design direction to DV and PV, including part splits, mounting, sealing and assembly.
Design and integrate touchpoints and HMI (handlebars, controls, access doors, caps), balancing ergonomics, appearance and function.
Build clean, continuous surfaces and convert them into solid, mould-ready parts with correct draft, wall thickness, ribs, snap fits and tolerances.
Run rapid prototype builds (SLA, resin, painted finishes), test fit and function, and feed findings back into CAD.
Apply LionsBot's design language, CMF and branding systems consistently across products.
Work directly with engineers and suppliers to resolve constraints and DFM feedback while keeping design intent.
Document design decisions, specifications and CMF clearly for engineering and manufacturing.
Up to 2 years of experience in product development, including internships with hardware delivered to prototype or production.
Proficient in SolidWorks solid and surface modelling; understanding of curvature continuity and surface quality.
Working knowledge of injection moulding and plastics DFM: draft, wall thickness, parting lines, snap fits.
Hands-on prototyping experience (3D printing, resin, finishing).
Rendering and visual communication skills (KeyShot, Adobe).
Comfortable working closely with engineers, building solutions together rather than handing off.
Degree in industrial design, product design, mechanical engineering or a related field.
