RESPONSIBILITIES

DCS and SIS availability

  • Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Perform configuration and system maintenance on the DCS and SIS.
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks during project startup, maintenance, and production problems.
  • Design, program and modify the algorithms, graphics, displays, interlocks and calculations into the system.
  • Provide technical expertise on state-of-the-art Automation methods and techniques, knowledge of the latest trends in the areas of DCS and Safety systems, field instrumentation and electrical equipment to implement best practices for the EMSEA

Focal point for all Automation systems

  • Provide technical expertise on state-of-the-art Automation systems DCS, SIS, PIMS, LIMS, APC, Alarm Management etc. and knowledge of the latest trends in the areas of above-mentioned systems to implement best practices for the EMSEA site.
  • Contributes to maintain and administer facility quality, safety and environmental programs/processes, including non-conformance action items and MOC processes. He/she therefore is in close contact with the relevant departments to be up to date in terms of regulations.

Provide and implement technical assistance

  • Provide technical expertise and oversight for E&I maintenance and technical changes to the instrument and electrical systems
  • Provide training for Maintenance and Operations related to automation process or process equipment changes.
  • Identify and implement potential cost savings and safety related items.
  • Provide production assistance as required for all E&I related improvements or trouble shooting.

Provide cost estimates and engineering support

  • Plan, estimate, design, construct, startup and manage plant projects associated with DCS and Safety systems, instrumentation and electrical systems.

Site coordination for the PIMS system

  • Coordinating maintenance PIMS system including the coordination with experts in TI-TE and IT for the infrastructure
  • Providing training for PIMS system

Coordinates and coaches the plant E&I engineers

  • Coaching and training young E&I engineers
  • Coordinating side wide approaches to E&I engineers

Take over on a regular and scheduled base the E&I on-call engineer duties.

REQUIREMENTS

Education, Certification or relevant experience required:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Process Controls or equivalent

Additional skills and abilities required for this position:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DCS engineering activities in the chemical or petrochemical industry
  • Extensive knowledge in petrochemical / Oil Gas plant DCS and SIS. Experience in Yokogawa and Siemens DCS & SIS system is preferred.
  • Open-minded towards team concept
  • Good communication skills and adaptive to cultural differences
  • Ability to work with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and environmental concerns. The first priority of this position is the safe operation of the EMSEA site
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.)
  • The usage of various systems and databases for documentation, engineering and workflows is required
  • This position requires a responsibility to assist with the production of the EMSEA site which are in 24/7/365 operations and is therefore required to be on-call
  • Usage and understanding of technical drawings such as P&ID’s, electrical and instrument drawings and equipment manuals is a requirement for this position
  • Willingness and ability to attend internal and external trainings, if necessary, abroad
