Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and support mission-critical databases in a secure and regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in government projects or similar regulated sectors, ensuring robust security, compliance, and optimized performance across database systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision and manage databases with the required licenses.
- Implement and maintain data security, access controls, and recovery measures in compliance with security policies.
- Monitor database health, performance, user access, and security standards.
- Optimize database parameters to improve system performance and scalability.
- Implement configuration management and automate disaster recovery solutions for business continuity.
- Support systems with high usability while maintaining stringent security requirements.
Requirements
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Passion for automation, standardization, and adopting best practices.
- Relevant IT experience in database administration, preferably in government sector projects.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Core DBA Tasks: Database management, security administration, SQL programming, performance tuning, and scalability.
- High Availability & DR: Designing and implementing HA and Disaster Recovery strategies.
- Practical experience in troubleshooting database and server performance issues.
- Professional certifications in databases and/or security (preferred).
- Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS RDS or similar platforms (advantageous).
