Database Administration Professional (Part-Time)
Responsibilities:
This role is a part-time position based on hourly rates and primarily responsible for the following;
- Designing and implementing databases to meet organizational needs.
- Ensuring database performance, security, and data integrity.
- Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies.
- Managing user access, permissions, and security protocols.
- Optimizing SQL queries for improved performance.
- Identifying and resolving database-related issues.
- Creating and maintaining data models to support business intelligence.
- Monitoring database performance and making adjustments as needed.
- Maintaining documentation and generating reports on database activity.
- Working with developers to ensure database support for applications.
- Ensuring database compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans.
- Scaling databases to support growing organizational needs.
- Keeping current with new SQL features, technologies, and best practices.
- Generating database reports at the start of each month for business users.
- Other duties, as specified by Supervisor/Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree in information science or computer science or equivalent experience in SQL administrator role for at least 3 years.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
- Computer literacy skills in Google Sheet and Google Docs.
- Able to work remotely and occasionally under time constraints.
- Able to work at a sustained pace and time sensitive environment with little to no errors.
- Demonstrate understanding for the importance and value of customers.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- This role is responsible specifically for their job assignments and the success of those assignments.
Initially, the reports that are required to be generated monthly will require 3-4 man days to complete in the first week of each month. Additional work concerning maintaining the database permissions and security protocols will be at the prerogative of the hiring manager.
