The Opportunity
The Data Infrastructure Engineer will join a well-established, collaborative team focused on scaling up our production data infrastructure. There will be regular opportunities for professional growth, including formal training and mentorship from more senior engineers. You’ll be part of a small squad of Data, Infrastructure, and QA specialists empowered to define ways of working that work best for everyone. You’ll have the freedom to come up with innovative solutions to unique challenges and help us use data to make work more human. The results you deliver are directly linked to our company's strategic objectives.
What we can offer you
Implement monitoring solutions to track platform health, including metrics collection and alerting thresholds.
Analyse and improve system performance across storage, compute, and networking layers.
Maintain and enhance infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform.
Implement deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines for consistent and reliable releases.
Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-mortem analyses to prevent future incidents.
Monitor resource utilisation trends and forecast capacity needs.
Optimise infrastructure costs while maintaining performance SLAs.
Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data governance requirements.
The skills you will bring
Ideally, you have at least 4 years of experience in managing cloud infrastructure, with a preference for experience in data infrastructure.
You have hands-on experience with AWS services such as Redshift, EKS, S3, as well as knowledge of technologies like Athena, EMR, Apache Spark, Airflow, and similar tech stacks
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Terraform for infrastructure automation and management.
You have basic Python programming skills.
You communicate effectively and understand the importance of trust, transparency, and honesty.
You build relationships with your colleagues and leaders through informal conversation as well as formal work-related collaboration.
