Main Responsibilities:

Communications

  • Ideation & Creation: Participate in conceptualization of internal and external campaign ideas, utilizing creativity to spread the message to employees, the general public, and healthcare professionals. This translates to unbranded campaigns, as well as product launches across our business units.
  • Writing & Editing: A key component of the Communications department, you will be required to write and edit for internal newsletters, articles on the company’s intranet, LinkedIn content, press releases, etc.
  • Organization & Coordination: Involvement in internal company events such as Town Halls, disease awareness days, as well as fun activities organized by the Recreation Club, e.g. Dinner & Dance, Family Day, charity work, etc. You will also be involved in Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), to help create a diverse and inclusive workspace.
  • Other Communications support: With Singapore being a regional hub, this role is an exciting opportunity where you may also provide Communications support for our offices in Malaysia and Thailand – as well as further in Asia, such as Philippines and Vietnam.

Public Affairs

  • Advocacy development: Support advocacy efforts related to patient access to medications and public health initiatives.
  • Stakeholder management: Support the coordination of meetings and events with government agencies, healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and industry associations.
  • Political analysis: Monitor Malaysia and Singapore political developments affecting the pharmaceutical industry, assist in situational analyses, and contribute to content creation.
  • Documentation compliance: Manage public affairs documentation, trackers, and ensure compliance.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and appropriately with internal and external stakeholders (in a multi-cultural environment), through written and verbal means.
  • Gain knowledge and insight into the development and implementation of effective Communication and Public Affairs strategies.
  • Develop project management skills via critical thinking and problem solving, by analysing underlying issues to unforeseen challenges.
  • Learn the principles of ethical lobbying and stakeholder mapping in the pharmaceutical context.
  • Learn to be the brand custodian by managing our brand identity, maintaining consistent messaging, and ensuring brand integrity across the various communication channels.

 

Experiences/Competencies Required:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, ideally in communications, business, political science, social science, or any related field.
  • Strong command in written English and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for details.
  • A proactive and creative mindset, with a willingness to learn and possesses strong project management skills.
  • Exhibit organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, self-initiated and driven.
  • Innovative, accountable, collaborative, and challenges the status quo.
  • Good to have: Previous leadership and/or writing experience in school or student varsity activities. Skilled in Canva.
