Who We Are


The Legal team works hand-in-hand with leaders across the company to support HopSkipDrive’s growth, innovation, and strategic initiatives. It's an integral and highly impactful team that provides legal advice and guidance to ensure the company operates within legal boundaries while protecting intellectual property, financial interests, and regulatory compliance. We navigate complex legal landscapes to mitigate risks and support innovation. The Compliance Manager is critical to the team’s rapid response to compliance questions and implementation of complex regulatory standards. You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring ongoing compliance requirements and working with cross-functional teams to operationalize those requirements
  • Owning coordinating and drafting transportation network company permit applications and renewal applications
  • Owning regulatory reporting and fee submissions
  • Assisting with licensing/permitting and compliance stand-ups in new markets
  • Completing ad hoc research on compliance-related questions and issues, and supporting the Compliance Team in optimizing HopSkipDrive’s rapidly growing regulatory portfolio


Who You Are

You're a highly organized and analytical operator with a proven track record of building scalable processes and collaborating across teams. You're passionate about hitting targets and eager to lead key initiatives. With the following skills, you’ll make a tangible and immediate impact:

  • 5+ years of experience in a regulatory compliance role  within a legal department or law firm OR JD & 3+ years experience in compliance 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of implementing regulatory reporting and permitting without lapses or citations
  • Proven ability to facilitate implementation of compliance requirements, setting up systems and processes to ensure compliance with limited supervision.
  • Experience analyzing and reviewing data submissions prepared by data teams for accuracy and consistency with relevant legal requirements
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to practical business operations.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving regulatory environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with legal professionals, cross-functional teams, and external partners.

The salary range for this role in Los Angeles, CA is $100,000.00 - $125,000.00. This position is remote and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this role also includes equity stock options.
