About Thales in Singapore
Thales established its presence in Singapore in 1973 to support the expansion of aerospace-related activities in the Asia-Pacific region. Over the years, the company has expanded and today is involved in the main sectors of Aerospace (including Air Traffic Management), Defence & Security and Digital Identity & Security (DIS). Thales also has an established Research, Technology and Innovation (RTI) footprint in Singapore, housing a Research and Technology team (one of five for the Thales Group worldwide), an Innovation Hub and the Digital Factory in Asia.
For the Digital Identity & Security business, Thales operates the Group’s largest multi-module DIS Manufacturing Competence Centre in Singapore, together with an Engineering Competence Centre working on research and product development for multiple sectors, including banking, telecommunications and automotive. About the Internship
The Communications team is looking to engage an intern, who’s bursting with creative ideas and enthusiasm, to support us in upcoming projects that help enhance the Thales brand in Singapore and throughout the Asia region. The intern will work closely with the Communications team and with other business functions to communicate across multiple channels (internal & external) on a diverse array of topics cutting across all business sectors that Thales is involved in. This is a great opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of communications activities, from writing to content generation, video production and editing, design to events management.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Content generation and design work of short-form articles like internal articles, social media posts, video descriptions, posters and more
- Pre-event and on-ground support at exhibitions, trade shows, conferences and internal events
- Creation of simple video and digital content, including filming and editing
- Liaison with Communications and HR on employer branding-related projects
- Maintain and enhance current Thales intranet site
- Administrative support and inventory management
Required skills and competencies:
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Enthusiastic and proactive with a can-do attitude and ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across different teams and groups
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office portfolio, and comfortable with Photoshop or any other video-editing software
- Experience with creative design and/or Content Management Systems (CMS) would be a plus
